Nope, that's Saturnalia (Yes, I'm being a dick :p). While essentially the same, the day before High Rock Christmas (Saturalia) is Rapist Christmas as it's Molag Bal's summoning day on the 24th. A bit of a weird set-up, got to admit.

Edit; got a bit confused as both the 20th and the 24th are called Chil'a. The 20th is Molag Bal's summoning day, and the 24th is some kind of early New year's festival.

Oh thank god, that's make that holiday very... awkward

Suddenly Saturalia doesn't feel so... festive anymore. Instead it just got dark and depressing.

If you guys haven't read "Chasing Aetherius" by our Lorc and Long Chapper yet, I would definitively recommend it. They have a very interesting Saturalia related chapter of that story. One of the points they make is that Saturalia must be one hell of a shitty day for any Daughter of Coldharbour...

Brings a whole new meaning to "home for the holidays", eh? That they fall on similar days or the 20th (Chil'a) in some lore circles doesn't surprise me in the least. What is some of Bal's imagery but corrupted versions of either Arkay's (both share 8 sided stars, especially clan Volkihar) or bastardizations of beloved holidays. Old Bally thrives on that shit. He's your resident Daedric bad boy who yet gets all the girls, or guys, or hermaphradites... There's just something about that spear...

Shall we now bring old Merid to the mix? :D Our little miss fallen Magna Ge? She supposedly cavorted. *wink wink, nudge, nudge*

*Molag Bal bursts in Serana's door with a bouquet of dead flowers and a red velvet cake*

    "Happy Birthday, BABY!"

Like the bad ex-boyfriend that just won't go away.

Too many short comments here! I lost track of...well, everything. Mostly time. :D

Anyway, let's set things straight here, okay? Straight...hehehe. But seriously now. Chil'a was celebrated as some sort of blessing of new year in some forgotten Breton county or barony or whatever on 20th. Then it was moved to 24th in countries around Illiac Bay. And it is also a Molly B's summoning day. Saturalia is on 25th and it basicaly marks the beginning of Old Life Festival - still hate how ESO bungled that up. 25th-31st = Old Life Festival. 1st = New Life Festival = Afterparty!

    YAY, sexy falling winged ladies!

So you think she slept with Oblivion's biggest bad boy or not?

I think she did. And now hates him and everything he stands for. There is almost a loose Medusa quality to her and actually her story, of her fall and all that, parallels quite a few Greek myths, especially those of the "corrupted virgin" trope.

The one with Molag and flowers made me laugh wayy more than it probably ever should.
