I'm interested in seeing what other people are doing here because I'm stuck on actually figuring out the RP for my character, at the moment my best plan is the old Evil Twin sort of thing but I'm not really fond of that, I dunno just a little torn on how to fit anything other than gameplay into this one.

Yeah, I'm finding this a little tricky - if I do Dawnguard as Serana, well, a/ Serana's RIGHT THERE and b/ I'm also a Daughter of Coldharbour but nobody, obviously, will notice that. I'm kinda thinking something along the lines of 'something went kerflooey with the protection on Serana A and caused me, Serana B, to pop into existence, and this was also the triggering event that had the other vampires finally able to begin tracking her down to Dimhollow'... So, logically, I should probably pop into existence at the Hall of the Vigilants, perhaps (I think that's an option for ASLAL) as that's as close as I think you can get (other than simply starting in Harkon's Court) to starting near her. Not currently a vampire, sent to try and reason with that Isran fellow, but make Wrong Choice when confronted with my doppelganger and her/our father, become Lord, blah blah?
Alternatively, I could use the 'member of Harkon's Court' start, thus already Vampire Lord, BUT sack off Dawnguard and go join the Dark Brotherhood and do that as my major quest, given her skills are pretty perfect for it. Also means no awkward stuff with dragon souls... (OTOH, I'd definitely have to cheat to get the Royal Armour for playing dressup, because AFAIK you can't find any of that before whatever the quest is called (chasing echoes? or is that something else) where you go looking for Serana's mam.) Given there's ASLAL starts that start you off with Steel Plate and things, though, I don't think this is too unreasonable?
Anyway, current load order: https://pastebin.com/13xv8sun

HAh, I already have more half-formed ideas for Serana (who obviously is the best) but can't for the life of me think of anything that doesn't involve Sanguine, Sheogorath or just saying...You know what, screw it I'm disabling Vilkas.
I mean, you've got it kind of easy with the Elder Scroll (too bad she doesn't have Blood that'd just be too easy methinks) which is the ex machina of all ex machina with the whole reality distortion. I see no reason why they Elder Scroll couldn't create a copy of Serana that can act indepentedly from the original in an attempt to screw over Harkon, or at least, I can see no reason why that doesn't seem at best half plausible if you wanted an easy little tool to work with there (dunno how it works in terms of RP, Elder Scrolls are just kind of tricky to deal with in a build).
Huh, that first chunk of the character is hard to figure out, I can't really think of any logical reason for how/why/when Serana would pop up, but your ideas pretty much seem to work. in my opinion, Oh and you managed to give me a bit of inspiration with that whole 'screw it and join the Dark Brotherhood idea', or at least gave me my first idea that wasn't creating Vilkas' evil twin brotherr Sakliv :P

@Gnewna how did you make that load order list? Did you write ti in yourself or is there soem program that lets you see it liek that? I have 100+ mods so the only smart way for me is to copy my LOOT-order...

True, definitely the sort of nonsense an Elder Scroll might get up to... (I'm totally using a mod to let me wear one on my back, btw, no reason for 'real Serana' to have all the cool accessorising fun...)

I use Mod Organiser, which has separate profiles and handles them in a different way than Nexus Mod Manager - if you use MO, navigate to your Mod Organiser folder (mine is in my Skyrim folder), open 'profiles', open the folder for the profile you want to get the load order for, and open the 'loadorder.txt'.
If you use Nexus Mod Manager, once your load order is set, there's a button that lets you 'export to clipboard', on the Plugins tab - looks like a sheet of paper with an arrow pointing to the right. (You can also 'export to a text file' but if you just want to paste your LO somewhere, export to clipboard is plenty).
If you don't use either, I think Skyrim *does* have a plugins.txt file of its own somewhere, but IDK where.
