I've used this method for testing, but I'm not a fan of the Fortify Restoration looping for several reasons and it never really occurred to me to include it here. You actually only need 400%, or 150% if using both:

    20% × (1 + 400%) = 100%

    [20% × (1 + 150%)] × 2 = 100%

Need some clarifications: In Mason's Bronze Sentinel he mentions the below; does this mean that different healer potions stack?-- if so if you took potion (20%), drought (30%), philter (40%), and elixir (50%) all at once then wear your talos amulet or grab a standing stone, could you get an even stronger multiplier? I was under the impression that only one potion would take effect and any other additional potion of the same effect will override the previous one. Thanks in advance.

    Becoming the Sentinel…

The source of the Bronze Sentinels power has always been the Atronach Stone, sacrificing magical regeneration in return for virtual spell, disease and poison immunity.

We will be manipulating the effects of the atronach stone in an organic fashion by hoarding any restoration potions found throughout Skyrim. Take the restoration potions with you and drink them immediately before selecting the atronach standing stone.

The chart below illustrates this characters power curve from the 60% spell absorption already available at level 1 to the amazingly impressive 90% available at later levels…

This method surpasses the original alteration path allowing us to drop the skill completely, bulking out the Sentinels other combat abilities yet maintaining excellent defense.

I don't get that some people complained that finding Amulet Of Talos is hard. May be rare but Hold Guards sometimes have them and you can pickpocket it from them even if you're not a sneaky type, using Paralyse etc. You can easily find amulets on Borri, Karita the Pilgrim, Hold Guards, Roggvir after death and even Radiant Raiment sells sometimes! I'm not sure but I think you can use the 'Hit Merchant + Load ' trick to get some amulets there. Even draugr sometimes will have one.

Yup. I've used the "punch a merchant" trick in Radiant Raiment myself. Anyone can get 5 Amulets of Talos within 15 minutes that way, right out of Helgen. Or, if you play totally exploit-free, just wait outside the shop for 48 hours. Should still take <30 minutes to get five amulets.

One of tz gaming's videos the voice was explaining that this also effects the amount of uses for the shadow stone. I tried this the other day but to no avail can anyone confirm or debunk this. It may have just been because the amulet I used was stolen but I am not sure.

I've never heard that before. Do you have a link to the video in question?

This shouldn't affect the Shadow cooldown, because that is done separately from the Shouts cooldown. Maybe you saw him doing a demo of a build that uses the Aetherial Crown? If you store the Shadow stone in the Aetherial Crown, you can remove the crown, then re-equip it to use the power as often as you like. This also works with the Ritual and Tower stones. Very nifty trick.

But AFAIK, Fortify Shouts has no impact on any power cooldowns. You can check whether you did it correctly by opening your Shouts page in the Magic menu, and checking the cooldown time stated there.

Hey Jake, sorry for not replying to this before. I must have missed it. If you're still curious, I believe the way it works is that each potion buffs the ensuing one. e.g., if you drink a Draught --> Philter --> Elixir --> Philter --> Elixir:

    • Drink Draught - Magnitude 30%
    • Drink Philter - Magnitude 40% * (1 + 30%) = 52%
    • Drink Elixir - Magnitude 50% * (1 + 52%) = 76%
    • Drink Philter - Magnitude 40% * (1 + 76%) = 70.4%
    • Drink Elixir - Magnitude 50% * (1 + 70.4%) = 85.2%

From here, you just start seeing diminishing marginal returns. So there's no way to get to +150% like this unfortunately. You really need Alchemy.

However, with the Seeker of Shadows ability via the Black Book: The Sallow Regent, combined with the potion that calls for Yellow Mountain Flower, you now no longer need Enchanting to make this possible! You just need +82% Fortify Alchemy gear, which can be obtained through pre-enchanted equipment. For +82% Alchemy, you'll need to be at level 40 to acquire a circlet and necklace of "Peerless Alchemy", along with either Muiri's Ring + bracers of "Major Alchemy", or the Ring of Pure Mixtures + bracers of Eminent Alchemy.

Getting to level 40 can be a bit of a climb of course, but it also makes the end result more rewarding. And it calls for a lot less grinding. It would actually work very well as a sort of "escalator" -- as your character's Alchemy skill improves, and as he gains access to better Fortify Alchemy equipment and Seeker of Shadows, he slowly approaches 100% Fortify Shouts. Almost as if he's training his Shouting skill or something. I think it'd work really well in gameplay -- might even give that a shot myself.

Hi, I'm on ps3 and whilst I had not trouble finding amulets of talos, after initiating a dialogue with my follower, I couldn't use the werewolf transformation. Im not sure if this is some kind of bug or I'm doing something wrong. Any ideas?

You transform BEFORE talking to your follower

I did try that, and then couldn't talk to my follower as the transformation took place?
