Is there any specific reason you limited it to those shouts?

Yeah, I wanted to try to stick to the Novice spells as much as possible and try not to rely on an array of shouts and powers. MfD is arguable overpowered but the Familiar dealt more physical damage than I did and was more of a supplement to it than myself. Slow Time was a great way to buy time to setup spell combos in a pinch and that Temporal Bind move is great against overwhelming odds. Ultimately they were all I needed. Other shouts could be used but I was shooting for that minimalistic aspect.

Now that I've picked up Skyrim again, I've finally started this build... A Breton named "Marcus, The Wanderer" Got out of Helgen, picked up the Mage Stone and walked the hell away from Riverwood, because why not? I'll keep you updated on how this little beauty is played :D

Hell yeah! Ain't nobody got time for Riverwood! This build must be the "Let's Play" of the month! Between you, Jin, Prisoner, Casey, and Derek I've heard some great feedback and some awesome tales. Can't wait to hear how Marcus progresses! Read some of the comments to pick up some pointers from the other guys.

Almost nobody. I stopped in at the traders to get him going on about the Golden Claw... I like to help out struggling merchants, and it always makes my heart happy to shove the Dragonstone right in Faregar's smug little face before he expects it, "Think on that, you son of perdition! Jin, OUT!"

I always do that too, but this time I wanted to murder things in the opposite direction, so I did. Freedom! :P

Right? Break those Skyrim traditions! You know the ones I'm talking about: heading straight for your "designated" guild, picking up every piece of gear to sell to train "slow" skills, feeling like you've completed a build at a certain level. Screw that stuff! Do whatever you want and "Don't Stop Believin'"!

Case in point, I amped it up to expert(!), turned off the HUD(!!!), and only occasionally turn the music up. I just got new headphones, so without HUD or music, I only know when I'm being attacked when an arrow whizzes past and lodges itself into a tree, or a splatter of poison hits my familiar!

I do have wabbajack, but I think its pretty balanced... Turning a bear into a daedric warrior is a little disconcerting, but you can outrun a daedra lol. It also fits my RP: A wild, undisciplined, but naturally talented magician, who best channels his "heavy artillery" through a staff.

This is the first playthrough I turned off all HUD. No crosshairs, no magic bar, nothing. I'm seeing more of Skyrim this way than I have in all my some hundreds of hours invested in this game. I realize I usually just watch the compass like a speedometer lol. Now its just occasional Clairvoyance spell, and feet back on the road! Your choice of spells liberated me from the shackles of crosshair dependency as well. Also, I'm level 12. Awesome.
