You can also transfer Curie into a Synth by going down the main quest until Nick takes you to the Memory Den, after you do Kelloggs Memory quest, the Doctor there can do it too.

For Special: Hmm..Maybe a slightly lower than normal Charisma, to kind of illustrate the "Alien who doesnt understand people, so he's kind of wierd" vibe.  Maybe a higher Intelligence, since, you know, all that science.  A high Endurance might be good too, it does take some tough skin to survive a spaceship crash :P

I have the SPECIAL ready, I'm just wondering if anyone can do the spread for me, like a perk spread for Skyrim builds.

So I've got a quick question but...how do Critical Hits work in automatic weapons in V.A.T.S? I'm mainly thinking about the sorta crazy idea of running a Gatling Laser (because the Minigun Ammo is rarer) and just go balls to wall with critical hits. I'm not 100% sure on the build because the early game would be a bit of a pain in the ass, and I don't know how to make a Minigun Viable from early on, but uh.

Yeah, just the question about Critical Hits (if they trigger as a round or per shot) and how this sort of build would work.

Hey Deebs, automatic weapons work in VATS just the same as semi-auto except you get a spray of bullets. Not sure how many hits off the top of my head but I think it’s around 4-6 probably that all crit. Gatling laser with charging barrels is insane and will do plenty of damage in VATS but I actually wouldn’t shut out the minigun. Despite 5mm ammo being less common (super mutants have highest chance of running a minigun) it is one of the cheapest ammo types in the game on par with flamer fuel and .38 rounds. You can easily just buy up all the stock vendors have as you travel and you should be fine. You can easily run a minigun from Concord onward but selling your extra ammo types for 5mm even with poor to mediocre charisma. If you can get a legendary minigun which is a lot more common than a legendary gatling laser you will be in really good shape.

Though the best Legendary Gatling Laser is Aeternus from Nuka World. It literally has infinite ammo

I've noticed while playing its usually the volley that hits so like 4 shots, that all get counted as crit hit. On another note have you thought about using Overdrive, any perks that effect crits like say damage effect the crits from Overdrive as well. I think it's a mix of psycho and somthing else, but anyway you get boost to overall damage and a 20% chance to critica; hit. I see no reason why it wouldn't work inside of vats as well. Could lead to some interesting gaming if your focusing on crits based character.

Damn okay, so, if we went with the (100% incorrect numbers here) idea that a Minigun would do 6 shots, 10 damage per shot and my critical hits did 3x damage, the idea is that originally each hit does 10 (for a total of 60) but with the crit, each hit would do 30 damage (for a maximum of 180)?

    Okay that's pretty awesome.

Yeah I'm starting to think that the Minigun might be a good option, partially because I've had shitty luck with Fusion Cores and I wanted to start a good stockpile, but from what I can tell the Ballistic Legendary Effects are just...well better than the energy weeapon ones (or there are better options available to Ballistic Weapons) and if they're more common then that'd be good. Oh and I know an Exploding Minigun is supposed to be insanely good because each shot triggers an explosion but are there any other Legendary Effects that are really good for automatic guns?

Nah. This Survivor says no to drugs and doesn't shoot up constantly :P I know it's probably more useful to go with Overdrive, but honestly I just won't be taking ddrugs with this character so...yeah.

Hah Chems arn't for every Sole Survivor, just don't let Cait hear you say that lol :p

Some good legendary's I've come across for auto weapons are, Stagger, Knee caping. If your going for crits build you could look at the lucky legendary or the relentless. Theres actually a mod that lets you disassmble legendary effects at craft stations and put them on another weapon or armor. You just need coresponding perks so Gun nut and Armorer iirc. that might help ya :)

DB - if you do go for some minigun fun, check out the section of my Ashmaker where I talk about how to accumulate a lot of 5mm.
