  Something I've always done for the heroic vampires, that I feel is a good substitute for feeding, is vampire dust. My first heroic vampire, Marrow, would hunt down other vamps and kill them, and eat the dust to absorb their life energy. Since I have Dawnguard, no one attacks me anyway, and I just act like the dust doesn't strengthen me, it just curbs the cravings.
