I was wondering if anyone had done a well thought out Collector Build...maybe there are others, but this is the first I've seen that makes me want to play Skyrim in this way. Thanks and kudos! +1

    Hi Legion,

Nice looking build! To improve it i'd give it a squeeze!

While those skill images look nice they don't really serve any purpose, that's not 'the build'.

Why level 37? It really makes the build look half finished, and spoils the look of an absolutely great looking perk spread. Having 1/5 in Armsman just makes it 'look' like you don't know what you're building and are just splashing your perks around...

The race/stone (etc) section are the more vital stats about your character and should probably be brought up the page more...  When reading I'd already started thumbing through your perks when I realized I didn't know what race the character was or what weapons it was using...

I'd also move the RP profile and 'library' image down to the last 3/4 of the build page (BUILD>RP in this group)

Allow me to to defend some of my decisions and tell me what you think.  Might want to put your reading glasses on for this one.

    Why level 37?

I pondered this a few times while writing the build.  The conclusion I came to is that while a number ending in a zero is probably more attractive on the surface, it's no more legitimate than a number not ending in a zero.  I think this is especially true when considering the different rate and paths of progression of any given build.  Admittedly, I did have some perks left over from continuing to level, but I didn't place them and I therefore didn't think it was necessary to include those levels.  My reasoning was that the levels didn't matter if the perk earned from gaining that level was not going to be used.

Having 1/5 in Armsman just makes it 'look' like you don't know what you're building and are just splashing your perks around...

This is a fair point.  My justification for the 1/5 in Armsman was mostly for roleplay.  The Curator is mediocre with one handed weapons and I wanted this to be reflected by the one perk.  Since it is also the backup weapon, I wanted it to do just a little more than it's base damage + .5% for every skill level.  This is something I'm willing to change though, which leads me to this question:

    Would it be better to
1). Leave the build at level 37
2). Bump it up to 40 but only still keep the 36 listed perks
3). Place some of the leftover perks to make a rounded level 40 spread

I can see option 3 is optimal from a salesman perspective, by which I mean I'm trying to "sell" my build, trying to make it more appealing at least on first glance.

While those skill images look nice they don't really serve any purpose, that's not 'the build'

I can't rally justify those beyond saying that I wanted to make something unique and appealing that would give readers a very quick and pleasant view of the general construction of the character.

Regarding the layout of the build, I agree.  It would really benefit from being reorganized.  I'll do that later today so that I don't have to explain to my bosses why I was making a Skyrim build on company time.  I do appreciate your feedback and I hope I explained my design decisions well enough.  I am willing to make changes if it means making a better build.  Well, except for the skill images.  I had too much fun making those!

Ha! For sure, there's no reason a characters journey has to end at 50....or 40 for that matter...

I think in this case though the odd level (37) combined with the fact that your perks looked so incomplete (1/5 - 4/5 - just novice in restoration) threw me off in accepting the character as 'finished'.

Yeah the 1/5 for roleplay just doesn't make sense for me, especially because you're using a silver sword with low base damage as it stands, you must have only reaped about 2-3 points of extra damage per swing which combined with your decent enchanting skills defies logic when that same point could have gone in 'Fire Enchanter' for a solid 25% damage boost...

Characters also an imperial which means they get apprentice restoration for free when you start out, well worth taking advantage of...

I think what's happening here is that RP --> Build crossover (and you have openly said in the build that it's RP heavy) and that's nothing to feel bad about...

Your presentation is fantastic and you've clearly put a lot of work into it. I'm just trying to explain why your build may not have hit home with some people...

I hear it now.  That whooshing sound.  Fire Enchanter went right over my head.  This is good though!  This is what I wanted.  I'll sit down with this later and break out the superfine-tooth combs.

I cleaned up the comments for you, Legion. Sorry about that! Let's hope it doesn't happen again!
