So I sent a missive to my inner Nord, and this is what was sent back.

I weep at reading this thread. I weep for all those learn'ed in apocrypha who have been tainted by elf-logic like the descendants of Cyrod,

The men of Cyrod have been tricked into worshipping elven demons, and worse have blasphemied the true gods of Man by dressing them in elven garb. While the simian danced on Ayleid towers, aye they did remove from this Demon his elvish qualities and made him more like Shor son of Shor, but Cyrods forget he was first the Elven Demon who murdered our Chieftain.

Kyne, in her mercy, took plight upon the true sons and daughters of this world and sent us salvation. We took our enemy's power and used it for ourselves.

Akatosh? Bah! The Cyrods worship the Bringers of Apocalypse.

I've got the beard, burly figure, natural frost resistance, and a taste for mead.

Of course, in any other setting these are the qualities of dwarves. And the vast majority of my fantasy characters have been dwarves. But alas, TES dun fucked up by making their dwarves elves.

This makes sense even when considering that Kyne is a soft, Imperial excuse for a god (only kinda sorta half-kidding).

Lol, I'll bite  Kynareth may have lost some of that warrior goddess ascpect but it kind of makes sense for the Heartland, breadbasket that it is. In return she pick up some of Arkay's sphere over The Wheel. Skyrim dwells a bit on the seasons being part of Arkay's influence but in Cyrodiil we see more of Kynareth in that aspect and the whole of the natural order.

In addition, I have always liked the Zenithar/Kynareth connection:

Of the original divines, Zenithar is thought to be the most in touch with the mortal realm. Some legends say that Zenithar has close ties to Kynareth, an idea that is supported by the manner in which the two gods' realms interact. Craftsmen devoted to Zenithar are able to create and profit from the materials provided by Kynareth's natural world. The two work in harmony -- the natural world providing for the craftsmen. One cannot revere Zenithar without acknowledging the power of Kynareth.

She is much more of a team player in Cyrodiil
