Angry due to 'the relationship' or the 'actual fact' that Whelps are probing her personal life of being a werewolf.
As to Skjor, he was picked to be the Harbingers successor.
Kodlak: "Tradition is very important to me, son."
Skjor: "To me as well. I think we don't see the same tradition at play here."
Kodlak: "If you want to lead this pack when I'm gone, you have to see farther. Look closer."
Skjor: "Well which is it? Look farther or closer?"
Kodlak: "Come on now, boy, you know what I meant..."
Skjor: "You speak in riddles sometimes."

I disagree. I would be annoyed/angry is someone started rumors about me being in a relationship with someone I was good friends with/worked with.

Yeah, if they're not in a relationship, even just a purely sexual one, I always saw them as sort of sibilings, almost always bickering, but work well together. Perhaps Aela is cloaking her grief under her flame of vengeance, and perhaps he is buried, but we never see it.
Also, I know the feeling. A lot of people at my school think we're dating. Is it so wrong for two people of the opposite gender to hang out in a platonic way?

Sotek, I have a related question. Is the relationship between Vignar and Brill - their shared room and the vague backstory we learn about their bond - a subtle hint that they are lovers?
