    The trouble is what part of that statement should we take literally? Does he mean he wasn't literally eaten and shat back out or he wasn't literally Trinimac?

    How much of the tale is allegorical?

    Maybe Malacath always existed as part of the 16 gaps between the spokes in the wheel but it took Trinimac's tears to make him grow. Perhaps it's a Greymarch type of event and that every Kalpa the Trinimac character is doomed to undergo this change because it's one of the three aspects he represents.
