    Ok, fair enough.

Vehk's Teachings More on the Psijic Endeavour  is a great resource for getting the basics as to what CHIM is and how it relates to the Psijic Endeavour. The Tower is a good resource for understanding how it all fits together.

As for the whole CHIM ain't canon shite, here's a few words that should be recognisable to all:

CHIM. Those who know it can reshape the land. Witness the home of the Red King Once Jungled.Commentaries on the Mysterium Xarces vol3

''You have suffered for me to win this throne, and I see how you hate jungle. Let me show you the power of Talos Stormcrown, born of the North, where my breath is long winter. I breathe now, in royalty, and reshape this land which is mine. I do this for you, Red Legions, for I love you.'" Heimskr's dialogue taken from The Many Headed Talos, a book not seen in game and written by MK.

'I told you,' Vivec said, 'I am meant to be the teacher of the king of the earth. AE ALTADOON GHARTOK PADHOME.'

With these magic words, the King of Rape added another: 'CHIM,' which is the secret syllable of royalty.

Vivec had what he needed from the Daedroth and so married him that day. In the hour that Bal had his head, the King of Rape asked for proof of love. From 36 Lessons, sermon 12

'You alone, though you come again and again, can unmake him. Whether I allow it is within my wisdom. Go unarmed into his den with these words of power: AE GHARTOK PADHOME [CHIM] AE ALTADOON. Or do not. The temporal myth is man. Reach heaven by violence. This magic I give to you: the world you will rule is only an intermittent hope and you must be the letter written in uncertainty.' I once heard a theory that Fallout is the past to the Elder Scrolls series.

I believe it was a joke, but the idea of time travelling androids and aliens and what not has me wondering about CHIM altogether.

Also let's not forget the proper name for the Amulet of Kings: Chim-el Adabal.

    That's not an arguement.

Anyone watch Caprica, the prequel to Battlestar Galactic?  You could argue that the ' Avenging Angels' achieved a sort of CHIM in V World. I think.  Or maybe also Neo in The Matrix?

I think it is. Why would we want another generic fantasy setting when there are already loads like that?

After all this time I still don't quite get where you're coming from when you make your statements. Your hero Ulfric Stormcloak has probably never even heard of the concept of CHIM. Even within the setting it is esoteric. All He knows is that Talos is a god and is powerful, he doesn't need or want more than that. So approach the lore from that perspective and there won't be a problem.

Neither is "We should eradicate it."

Having a concise, logical lore isn't something to strive for?

Not if it makes the lore less interesting, no.

Actually, it's not  an arguement. But that's because I don't know what an arguement is... One thing that I know it is and that I'm sure of is that it's both an argument and an opinion.
