Fair enough mate, it's always been a favourite solution of mine - 'Can't explain something? Drugs!'

But if you want to know more about gods in ES, check out the 'Aedra' and 'Daedra' sections of the Lore Archives, lots of great stuff in there.

Howdy, right now I'm roleplaying an Orc Dragonborn character. Basically closest to a templar, religious militant, that sort of thing. He worships the eight, gives to the poor, prioritizes fighting darkness, etc. A real goody two shoes. He was in a secretive religious order created by the emperor to succeed where the vigil of Stendarr failed. About two years before the start of the game it was disbanded and my character began to wander tamriel in search of a purpose, eventually heading to skyrim to connect with the orcs in the strongholds there, learn about his heritage. He finds out he is dragonborn, a warrior chosen by the gods to slay dragons. He fully accepts his duty and embraces his new purpose. Protecting Skyrim.

My issue is flaws. By all accounts this guy is a saint and the only flaw I have is that he drinks too much. What would be wrong with a character like this? Arrogance? Hero complex? I would appreciate some suggestions.

You mention wanting to get to know the stronghold Orcs, maybe a crisis of identity? He's been raised to be righteous and a worshipper of the eight, something that has driven him his entire life. But now he's more in touch with his culture than ever before. Will he let it change him, reverting back to a 'true' Orc at the cost of his past? Or is his resolve stronger than his desire to be where he feels he belongs, even if it estranges him further from the only possible family he can get?

I was considering that, I've yet to make it to a stronghold in the game yet but that would be a conflicting viewpoint for him, considering the darker side of Orcs and their worship of a daedric prince, a being that my character once pledged to protect mortals from. I think due to the fact that the order was the only true family he ever had and now he wants a new one, he would be very susceptiple to adopting the orcish ways. I could also see him beginning to resent the divines for putting this burden on his shoulders as time goes on.

Spending years and years of his life fighting 'evil' in their name only to have his only family and passion fade into nothingness. Then, they make him the dragonborn and he feels responsible for the safety of everyone in Skyrim, maybe even the world. I can see after so many years of dedication and sacrifice that discovering you have dragon blood and are supposed to save the world from a beast that is literally called 'world-eater' can be seen as a punishment and burden rather than a gift and privelege. This would likely drive him to the more daedric side of his heritage and maybe he would explore Malacath, Azura, and Meridia.

Thank you for the response, that just sparked a new train of thought in me.

Glad to help my man, I got a little bit caught up and didn't really answer your question, but teach a man to fish and all that I guess. Your character sounds amazing from what you've just said, and I hope to see it around here in the future! (hint hint profile hint hint).

Howdy folks! I have an RP Profile in the works which should be ready in a few days, and it uses quite a few pieces of artwork. Just want to ask what the rule about crediting artists here is - I'll try to give credit where I can but I don't believe I have all the sources noted down. On a similar note, if anyone can point me to a site or tool that can help me find the sources for artworks I'd greatly appreciate it(Google reverse image search doesn't work a lot of the time)! Apologies if this is a little bit off topic, just thought I should ask before posting so I don't violate the forum rules.

No probelm dude, for future reference I guess this would go in the Lounge or Support parts of thr Forums, but I don't mind helping here. The general rule of thumb is that if you can give credit to the original creator do so, but unfortunately stuff gets posted and reposted so much on the internet that its hard to do that, but if you can't its no big loss.
