Hi, all. I've been a long-time lurker since the Skyrim Blog days, but this is my first post here - so pleased to make your acquaintance!

I've been workshopping a character whose narrative arc revolves around the Main Quest; this is new for me since I've avoided the Main Quest like the plague, or have generally 're-interpretted' it to suit my characters. So primarily I want to ask if the forum is open to RP profiles that don't take as much creative liberty when it comes to the game's contents.

My other question has to do with the lore of TES at large. Has there been any instances in which a member of the Baldes was identified as a Dragonborn? If not, how would the Blades take to this? Would they celebrate one of their own acsending to the ranks of legends, or would they distance the Dragonborn to maintain the distinction between servant and master? I think there is a story to be told there, but I'm not sure if it's rooted in lore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regarding the second part of your question it depends in what way you mean distancing. I believe that they would certainly treat him as their lord and protect him that 's what has happened since the first Blades appeared in Tamriel with Reman Cyrodiil. Quote from the wiki: "Reman was the first person who united the human lands of Cyrodiil and, in doing so, defeated the Akaviri invaders. The remaining Dragonguard, upon hearing the voice of Reman, knelt and swore their lives to him. They had found the Dragonborn they were searching for."

Profiles are always accepted as long as they're up to standard (check out the various profiles and guides for an idea, sorry I can't link as I'm on mobile).

I'd do to Lore with the first part of your question (although Duvain did a stellar job answering it). But as for the other parts, I think that protecting them would be their priority, which would unfortunately mean the end of their service - they're too valuable to send to the front lines, but they're probably not experienced enough for leadership positions so they'd be sent to the background, but then again lore isn't my specialty.

Yeah that will depend largely from what kind of person and what abilities the Dragonborn will have. He might be a warrior with superb fighting abilities, a spellsword, a mage, a thief, an assassin, a tactician that is not suited for the battlefield, a diplomat, a scholar, a politician, he could even be Nazeem or Belethor and somehow ended up joining the Blades and be a Dragonborn :P . So what the actions of the Blades would be depends on what kind of individual the Dragonborn is or so I believe.

Thanks Duvain! I mean distancing in the sense that the title of Dragonborn carries so much weight that its bearer is no longer viewed as a person. By becoming the Dragonborn the person who existed before is erased in the eyes of the Blades - I got the feeling that this may be the case from when the Blades renounced the Emperors of the Fourth Era. But then again, they had only pledged their loyalty to the Reman lineage and not the Empire itself, so its only fair.

Yeah, that's what I had in mind as well. Could be an interesting justification for a Blades Dragonborn who's only concerned with their own interests - it is, afterall, their sworn duty to protect themselves above all else.

The standard of the profiles are really high from the few that I've read, so I've got my work cut-out for me :). Cheers!

Hmmm, like an agent gone rogue when they find out they're part of something bigger? That would be awesome, the internal struggle of duty and honour vs personal gain (fame, fortune, yadda yadda yadda).

Am I correct in thinking that a Khajiit in fur armor would be like Leatherface wearing people's skin? Does anything in-game say how fur armor is made?

I'm pretty sure fur armor is any generic animal fur; nothing special. Although, the idea of a Leatherface Khajiit is actually really badass! You can certainly roleplay as if the fur armor was made from a fresh Khajiit victim, always being replaced with your latest murder.

I think maybe it's like humans wearing monkey skin/hair. Khajiits are obviously closer to animals than elves or humans, but there's still quite the difference, like us and monkeys.

But as Rogue said, Leatherface the Kitten needs to happen.

Hello :) i am a newcomer. Some while ago i found the character building group and decided to work on one myself. If it goes well, you would play as a ressurected draugr, one that was buried before the dragon war. Being raised at that time you would have believed Alduin was the high dragon and worshiped him alongside the dragon priests. However with the realisation that he only created the dragon cult for his own selfish pride, and that the dragonpriests also decieved their subjects, you become a crusader seeking to rid the world of them.

I guess lore-wise ive mostly got it. My only problem is consistency with the game... The real point you learn alduin decieved the people is well into the main questline, after you have been going out to kill him
