Good response :) and that was another issue to tackle, big investments. I usually don't think about the amount of gold I carry but this thread made me think of it. I do like your feather enchantment reasoning though lol. I wonder who the Imperials employ to make Septims. I mean, ignoring the fact that there are no beast/Mer children hahaha.. :(

This is a really nice post. I use rules similar to this, but I'll carry only one One Handed weapon, a steel sword, and I up the amount of potions to 20 in total, not the 15 you have listed. Anyways, nice post!

you can't do lockpicking without a shiv.

This really caught me off guard. I never realized till now about this.

40? I bet people would here that jingle in real life.

A horse hide for a bed roll is a must have for me. I'm never without it. A cooking pot, etc. I'm much more strict about the weapons, though. The clothes on my back, fur armor providing excellent coverage, my main weapon, a bow, one dagger, and very few potions. Little food. Sometimes some firewood. I like to struggle to survive in skyrim, as all these Nords refer to it as such a harsh land. As a console player, I could swim in glacial water all day, and there's nothing more that can be done for that than roleplaying like a mofo. XD

One cool addition to get a "backpack" would be to do Kimmek's Supplies to High Hrothgar and after you finish the quest you can get the "Supply Bag" back and weights 0 and can be placed(although as a floating platform) and can better explain where you have things stored.

If you REALLY want to loot properly though you could pretend you have some kind of feather spell that also shrinks items by size, not just weight. but it's less immersive as it does not entirely fit with the lore i guess. but i could see it making sense in a universe where there's also feaather and burden magic, so decide for yourselves!

I tryto stay within those limits for gold. For when I am buying a house like proudspire manor I like to pick up a follower or housecarl and have them carry whatever I am not as if they were hanging on to a chest for me.

I know it isn't from the Elder Scrolls universe, but I believe having a bag similar to Hermione's is completely reasonable. Plus, I won't do the arrows rule, seeing how a bandit can take 3 to the head and just be angry.

40 lockpicks!?  Jesus Christ!  Maybe for a completely passive character that carries a dagger only... No, I still can't justify 40.

I limit myself to 5 lockpicks at a time and don't allow myself to save scum before a master lock.

5 ingots is a bit silly to carry around.   Why would you carry ingots around anyway?  If you were a miner you would carry ore, which I would allow as many as you can carry (or more if you're willing to slow walk), but you have to walk straight to the smelter.  Once you have however many ingots you smelted, either take them to a forge or to storage.  The reasoning behind this is the handcarts you see strewn around skyrim.  I just imagine my miner has access to one of those.  I don't think you should just carry ingots around with you, though.  If you find some in a dungeon or cave, unless they are gold/silver/quicksilver/ebony or a forge is nearby, leave them.

Again, I don't see why you would carry leather pieces around between towns either.

10 units of healing potions?  That's 20 pots, you know?  Seems like it would be hard to pack that many fragile viles of liquid around safely.  I limit myself to 5 potions total, including poisons.

I do something very similar when it comes to weaponry and armor, but I am not as strict on staves. I can see a wizard carrying around 3-4 staves on his back (in place of a quiver, most wizards aren't archers) as well as a shield.  Kind of like a golf caddy.  I like to RP that my staff of magelight is my walking stick, so I don't count it among my staff collection as I can just throw it down anytime and find a new one later.

I would really like to see some longer replies to these kinds of threads.
