I'm almost tempted to try Ordinator myself. Almost! :D Light magic holds a special place in my heart so you can imagine I read this build with plenty excitement Great work Shin, as always. Keep it up! :D

I don't mean to add further temptation (you'd be hard-pressed to find a bigger Skyrim purist than me), but my very first Ordinator playthrough was with your Exorcist build.

    It. Was. AWESOME. ;D

First of all, thank you, Phil--I always really enjoy reading your comments :D

I'll be honest here, my mention of the Ritual Stone was nothing more than a serendipitous event; I had no idea there was such a strong connection to Mara and the Ritual Stone. Or that Mara is the Wolf totem in Skyrim, for that matter. I think you'd be pleased to know that my favorite Wild Companion was an Ice Wolf that attacked me during the later levels of the game (Mjoll and I are still travelling with him).

Speaking of the Speak with Animal perk, good catch! That was mis-information I had read in the early phases of the build before I had picked the perk up (I was trying to get as much of the writing done early as I could so I would make deadline). I went through, cleaned things up or deleted things that didn't turn out how I thought they would, but I completely skipped over the Speech section. It was one of the first things I discovered when I went back to do some polishing--it still needs quite a bit of polishing xD

My first real character (once I had finally understood the gameplay) chose the Ritual because of it's Blessed Word turn undead lesser power and Mara's Gift greater power of restore health for that holy warrior playstyle. Then there were the Birthsign Stones found in Cyrodiil, of which The Ritual's powers were Mara's mercy and Mara's Milk, and so my first ever lore question was "what is the connection between Mara and the Ritual?" There has never been an answer to that question, but I think Teineeva and Karver have something very compelling which addresses it.

I'm going to have to give that a read, then, because I find that connection to the Ritual Stone fascinating. Thank you for illuminating me, and as always, thanks for the kind words :D

*ugh, can't quote on mobile* Weeell the first thing I did after reading your build was load my latest Exorcist save and think to myself "maybe one more dungeon... soon". It's the first time I booted Skyrim this year. That speaks a lot about your build. :D

Well, Healers are just the master class, deal with it! :P

In my 13 years of (mostly online) gaming my go to and favorite class was always the healer especially the healer that can bring the pain and thankfuly mods give the opportunity to play such a healer in Skyrim.

    Nice build!

    Thanks, Duvain!

I'll be honest, even without the mods I still heartily enjoy playing healer class characters (and I am one of those people who tend to eschew followers). It's just nice to see them get a little empowerment with Ordinator ;D

I like the use of Speak with Animals, it's a fun perk and in this context it reminds me of those saints who were said to have tame animals following them around.

That's the exact vibe that I was feeling when I picked it up. I actually wrestled with that for quite a bit, because I really wanted to go deep into the Restoration tree, but ultimately it just felt right to give the perk a whirl... I'm glad I did (and I'm glad you get where I was coming from when I did ;D)

And thank you for your kind words! :D

    Sweet!

But let's be honest... that also says a lot about The Exorcist too, no? I can't say it enough: I had a lot of fun with that build ;D

Absolutely awesome build Shin! Love how you took two of the most under appreciated skills in the game and made them into something pretty special and fun to play. Add the great lore and role playing as Maras champion and it make this build a homerun.

    Hey, thanks TC4! :D

I've always loved what Speech can do for a build, but it was nice to finally devote some love to the Restoration school... definitely a valid school worthy of study xD ;D

Taking the time to reread this build before I start work on Urag. Funny how we both used Faendal, but while you lifted him up, I tore him down.

A question on Sun spells and Ordinator. How did you find the perks that effected them?

Also, if you decide to take an undead follower, would you not recommend False light? I'm a bit concerned cause I'm thinkiing about a build that uses Serana as a follower and I don't want Necromatic healing to accidently do her damage. Does this perk distinguish between friend and foe?

Again, great build, Shin and thank you so much for participating in this crazy little event. Here's to more. :D

I think with Ordinator you'll find that, in the beginning, your sun spells are no stronger and no weaker than without it. I'm still fairly new to the DLC, but it seemed like Vampire's Bane got a bit more oomph to it as my restoration skill level grew (but not so much to make it crazy noticeable).

Use Serana!!! The beauty of False Light is that those heal undead spells only affect hostiles. Any Heal Undead spells that accidentally hit her will heal her but still hurt undead enemies if you hit them instead... def can't say the same thing about Vampire's Bane ;D

    Love. False. Light.
