Waking up in the UK and catching up with what seems to me to be a massively underwhelming Showcase.

Basically it's existing games on new platforms, gimmicky VR versions and new DLC. Where are the huge and crazy new projects that were promised?

Just to remind ourselves, folks - Elder Scrolls VI has been pushed back to who knows when because Bethesda are working on exciting new projects. Well, I'm not seeing much evidence from this showcase...

A huge let down for me (and I predict a lot of hate across the Internet over the next 24 hours)

Hmm... it does seem that focus is on the MMO.
With beth's direction on the MMO being non-cannon, i wonder why all the focus?

Also, the DLC looks familiar... wasn't there a clockwork mod for skyrim?
Is this DLC then "inspired" by the skyrim mod clockwork (and by inspired i mean either re-creating the contents of this mod or outright plagarizing it)

If so, are we expected to spend real cash, for non-cannon content, inspired by a mod, which could be got for free (although i donated to this mod)?

At the very least, beth should get an expansion which allows for elder scrolls legends to be played as a card game in taverns, ala gwent from witcher.
Now THAT would be something i'd shell out cash for.

They can even make an additional NPCs pack to download to go ahead with it :)

Actually, Bethesda said about 8 months ago that ESO is canon. Not that this particularly thrills me or anything, but just saying.

Throughout the conference, he kept saying, "All these games are coming out this year." So I was hoping he would get to next year. But next year never came. Where are the new IPs they've been teasing? What about Starfield - the rumored new space-based RPG? When I saw the stars and rocket-ship background, I thought an announcement was coming, but nothing. All we got was Evil Within and Wolfenstein - two of Bethesda's least popular IPs. In fact, they devoted their entire time to their least popular items:

    Legends (meh - it's okay),

ESO Morrowind (least popular among single player gamers - even I have issues with it),

paid mods (I honestly hope this is an utter failure),

    Evil Within (meh),

Wolfenstein (we knew this was coming anyway),

VR (the gaming community is not fully sold on this yet, which is why Xbox didn't feature it in its conference), and

Skyrim Switch - with Amibo support. Seriously. Amibo. Mario in Tamriel. Someone at Bethesda needs to be shot.

Honestly, I have no idea why Bethesda even had a conference. It's becoming clear that Bethesda is a company that knows how to get to the top, but it has no clue how to stay on top.

Unrelated to Bethesda, color me interested in Anthem.

EDIT: I forgot about Quake. Yeah, no wonder I forgot. I'd much rather play Overwatch.

Exactly! I wasn't expecting much, but a mention, a teaser, something. ouch...they're going to get ripped if this is it.

Yeah I stayed up late to watch live and went to be very disappointed. Every year I look forward to E3 and Bethesda's showcase is one of my biggest highlights. Sadly this year I have not seen anything that looks that great that I know I want to buy. Guess it's another year of Skyrim and Fallout.

I admit I'm actually pretty interested in Wolfenstien II. The franchise has never interested me but I found their showcase on it pretty engaging. Plus. Bethesda has demonstrated that they know how to make a shooter, so, I expect a lot from the game. As much as one can expect from such a game, anyway.

The way Creation Club was presented, it feels like a way to give console users access to a larger variety of more robust mods. I feel like their biggest audience will be PS4 users, but I'm not sure if the Creation Club removes the "no outside assests" rule that Sony has. Without that, this thing is probably going to crash and burn. I have yet to see one piece of positve PR on it.

Yeah...it was all a bit underwhelming. They're milking the legacies of Skyrim and Fallout to keep some of us appeased, pushing out new old titles, and I guess making us wait another year for new IPs. Unless they'll surprise us closer to 2018 with news of new IP development. Did you all hear the way the crowd cheered at the beginning of the showcase when they showed Skyrim and Fallout footage? I swear I heard a touch of resentment on Hine's voice. "We know a lot of you are still playing Skyrim Special Edition and Fallout 4". "Still". Like most of us are watching for anything else? BAH.

In resposne to a tweet asking whether Skywind would be joining the Creation Club, they replied:

"Never. SKYWIND has always been planned as a free mod and nothing will change this."

    Which is rather excellent.

Just found the Creation Club FAQ. Last question on the page:

    Is Creation Club paid mods?

No. Mods will remain a free and open system where anyone can create and share what they’d like. Also, we won’t allow any existing mods to be retrofitted into Creation Club, it must all be original content. Most of the Creation Club content is created internally, some with external partners who have worked on our games, and some by external Creators. All the content is approved, curated, and taken through the full internal dev cycle; including localization, polishing, and testing. This also guarantees that all content works together. We’ve looked at many ways to do “paid mods”, and the problems outweigh the benefits. We’ve encountered many of those issues before. But, there’s a constant demand from our fans to add more official high quality content to our games, and while we are able to create a lot of it, we think many in our community have the talent to work directly with us and create some amazing new things.

But we know these mods are purchased with "credits". So then what are credits? Hmmm.

How do I get Creation Club content?

Creation Club is available via in-game digital marketplaces in both Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition and purchased with Credits. Credits are available for purchase on PSN, Xbox Live, and Steam. Your Credits are transferable and can be used in both games on the same platform.

So Cration Club is not paid mods. You simply need to buy credits with real money that you then need to exchange for the CC mods.

What?? Am I missing something or is Bethesda straight up contradicting themselves?

They are NOT paid mods. They are mods that you pay for.

I can't tell if you're taking the piss out of me or if I'm just too thick to discern the syntactical difference.
