Elemental Metaphysics

But identity isn't really knowledge so that doesn't really jive with the Sotha Sil\Herma Mora\Dreugh connections.

There is also a connection with the Khajiit since they have to "clim her breath" to get to the Lunar Lattice.

If memory isn't identity, the sum of a persons experiences, then I don't know what is.

Mundus is a realm where there isn't much of a difference between metaphorical and literal.

Air, in real life, has ben seen as the element of enlightenment, knowledge, and higher thinking. I favor that longer definition than spirit, but spirit can very well mean something other than strictly soul.

Yet again it depends on viewpoint. Fire can also be seen a symbol of enlightenment, "No spark had yet kindled in him an intellectual passion" for example. I think a lot of it boils down to cultural perspective and what they hold most dear. For the Nords it's wind and air, for the Dunmer it's fire, for the Ayleids it's light.

Of course comparative religion and folklore has its place, but I'm wary of making a blanket statement that air = spirit categorically. It's a useful tool to apply but I wouldn't consider it optimal. Just an opinion, of course.
