I'm done playing Dead is Dead with this build. :\

Stupid draugr archers, hitting ceramic oil lamps right as I run across oil slicks in Bleak Falls.  That dungeon should be safe to level Destruction in, even on DiD!  What rotten luck...

While I was looking at efficient low-rank Destruction leveling techniques (to reduce or even eliminate time/cost at Faralda), I learned that some factors may impact the slow effect.  To quote UESP: "The amount of slowing is affected by the amount of magic and frost resistances and weaknesses, as well as the Augmented Frost perk."

This explains why I thought slow was bugged (when testing Frostbite on Nord bandits)!  Makes me wonder if Augmented Frost also boosts slowing effect on enchanted weapons?  I'm wondering the same thing about stalhrim, honestly.

That's a good point about Overdraw on the arrows (and alchemy+enchant assisted tempering), but I stand firm about critical hits.  I'd rather invest those 2 skill points into making my adventure easier some other way.  And honestly, 80% Overdraw is just icing on the cake with the raw elemental damage of these bows.

I guess 100% cost reduction really would make runes ridiculously useful for power leveling!

    ya, runes and bunnies...super fast.

True, but overdraw helps the bbow and auriel bow ,if you are tired of using the elemental bows (it can happen after several hours), you can use either since both are classified as magical bow

If anything both weapons fit the "magic archer"  theme better: magic weapons , magic arrows and magical effects

    But the poor bunnies!

I have no such reservations about goats, however.  Especially since the bastards don't drop nearly enough horns.

they never do but they're usually pretty cheap and a general goods vendor.

My new strategy for seed money:

After getting to Riverwood, acquire Faendal as a follower and chop firewood if you are under 40 gold.  Head to Whiterun Stables and ride the carriage to Solitude.  Swim across the river near Solitude Sawmill and acquire Meeko.  Swim back across and ride the carriage to Riften.

Go to Fort Dawnguard if you have the DLC.  Get a crossbow and bolts for Faendal (and one for you if you want).  Get the Amulet of Zenithar from the shrine near Riften's north gate after your followers deal with the nasty spider.  Head into Riften and play along with the thieves' guild long enough to get the guild hood's mercantile bonuses.

Ride the carriage to Markarth and head to Kolskeggr Mine.  If possible, lure one Forsworn away from the other two and give the equipment to Faendal, or if you use mods that make the enemies more difficult, get 500 extra gold and hire Marcurio or Vorstag instead.

Using your followers, clear Kolskeggr and collect all the gold ore from inside.  Receive your reward from Pavo and turn in all your gold ore at the same time (3200g).  Ride the carriage to Windhelm and head to Kynesgrove, then up the hill to the dragon mound, then east to Narzulbur.  Collect all the non-owned ebony ore at the minimum and turn it in (2940g).

If you have the Dragonborn DLC, consider going to Solstheim to get the Blackguard hood.  If you need a little more pocket change, also do odd jobs around all the carriage cities (especially the ones that don't train any skills).  With well over 6000 gold in your possession, you can easily get 200 petty soul gems, or get a Hearthfire house with garden and greenhouse dedicated to lucrative alchemy!

    Hey guys.

Love the build, although i am confused about a few things.

I just managed to get level 60 in destruction but i can't cast the magic cloaks since i don't have enough magika. Do i need a certain enchantment to be able to cast it? Sorry if this is a nooby question, i am a noob.

Also, i'm struggling a lot. I'm level 25 with 83 in enchanting, 56 in Archery, 60 in destruction, 40 in light armor and 55 in speech. I'm struggling to kill some enemies and i die quite easily, though i think that might get better once i level archery a bit more.

My next stop is grelka, though i am completely broke, so i can't afford training till i get some money for soul gems to enchant stuff to sell for it.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Also, Mason, i know you probably wont see this since it says on your profile that you're retired, but this is truly one of the most fun builds I've ever played! So thank you for making it :)
