I think the team and I discussed whether we should or shouldn't use the Staff of Magnus. Thing is, the atronach's spell absorption does the job well, almost too well if you ask me. You'll find that fighting mages feels at times like activating god mode. That's why we included blood magic, to even the scales. Throwing in the staff of Magnus will just strengthen that god mode feeling. Have fun playing Motty! If you have further questions, fire away!

Yeah I'm still playing with vanilla atronach...that's a good point that bumping it up with alchemy will render the staff useless. It was just an observation, after having to use it on Ancano...which made that "battle" laughable. :) I like it!

Happy new year - one more question...

What did you guys do with the dawnguard/volkihar since you're a witchhutner but Isran won't let you continue...what with being a vampire and all?

Yeah. Hmm. Is there any issue with any of the glitches and timing that come to mind?

I did not have any problems. I started the Dawnguard at level 12 but I perked necromage after becoming a vampire again... just to be sure.

I have a question. I added Enchanting to the original build's setup and leveled it up to 100, perking Extra Effect. I also perked Twin Souls in Conjuration. I want to use Dead Thrall on two npcs and equip them with bows enchanted with fire, lightning and damage magicka to help me in my demon hunting. Now, you guys say that this build is about doing the right things through the wrong methods. What are the limitations of this? I mean, can I dead thrall two human npcs or should I stick to draugr? (I have the Dead Thrall on Anything mod installed). Judging from her backstory I think Karethys wouldn't want to use powerful necromancy on a human and basically put it through the same stuff she went through. Because of this I'd like to go with Draugr but I want to know your stand on this since you guys created the character.

You could thrall death hounds from your endeavours against vampires so you can have a constant slow/ stamina drain advantage over enemies. This would allow you to focus on fire and lightning spells to drain health or magicka quicker as your two pets would make quick work of any stamina.

You definitely have the right idea, Michael. Reading Fevnall's comment I had this cool thought. Michael, do you know what a dark ranger is? It's a cross between a ranger and a necromancer. A very famous example is Sylvannas Windrunner. You could use dead thrall on a death hound and a draugr, then give the draugr an enchanted bow: basically you'd have a dark ranger, a hunter of mages if you may under your command. A great enchantment for the bow would be fear. A death hound's bite slows down enemies. Couple this with fear and you'll have npcs running around in slow-motion! Of course you'd have to stop using aoe spells if you want your death hound to stay alive.
