Fascinating. What was all this about? I lurked for a while back in 2015, and just recently got back into the swing of playing skyrim. I notice things are quite a bit different these days with the vault.

When we switched over from the old Ning site, we were able to get all our old content; however, the images were all broken. So, the Restoration team went through every pre-Social Engine build on the site, saved the images, and are in the process of restoring the images and fixing formatting errors that occured as a result of the switch (at least to the best of our ability ;D).

We'll get it done... one day xD

That sounds mind numbingly tedious. Especially with builds whose authors arent active anymore.

I think this quote best sums up the state of this project xD I know I still have a bunch of my allocated builds to restore...

Sounds like you've all had quite the ordeal. Im starting to notice all the damaged builds, as well as builds that are outright gone.

Do you guys need any help? I would've offered way back at the beginning but I didn't have the time then. I've got plenty of time at the moment so if you guys need another hand helping out I'll do what I can :D

Im just now starting to notice the difference between the old vaults format and the new one. The margins are huge here compared to the old site I remember. Images are one thing, but I dont suppose there is a fix for the formatting issues in the form of adjusting the margin size?

Brandon - there are def a number of format changes here on social enginge. It handles images quite a bit differently and spacing can get tricky unless you know code hacks (which i don't). But being able to just click the pic and then the left/center/right align is actually kind of handy if you're just wanting to put together a build quickly.

I'm not sure on the margins tbh. I don't recall the ning ones much, but I think these are wider. Shinjin can maybe have a better answer.

Oh I dont build. I just play and admire them. Speaking of builds Im noticing a lot of well known builders who don't seem to be active anymore. Wheres Mason at? Or Teccam, Henson, Elysium, CND?

Personally, I'm in the 4th quarter, and should be done (if I continue at my current snail-pace) by June. Sooner if I get a bit of time (and gumption... my next restoration project is Chris' Chaos Master (a fantastic build), but I've been putting off doing it because there are a lot of wrap-around images and some paragraphs that are sandwiched between two images--the stuff of nightmares--it's just going to take a bit of time, and I haven't had a block of time that I could do it all in one shot).

But that is a good point. Time has opened up for you, but there may be folks on the team whose windows have closed. Communication has not been our strong point, and I'm wondering if it's simply because there hasn't been much to communicate. If that's the case, it may be beneficial for busy folk to farm some of their builds out--or just reassign them completely--to people who have that most precious of commodities... time xD

As Motty said, images are a bit tricky, but I still think they're easier to handle on this site than they were on Ning. As to the margins, it took some getting used to, but I actually  like the width of the new site; it allows for larger images which is kind of nice. It's just a bit tricky when you're trying to recreate old builds. There are other little things that make restoration rough (like no bullets even though there is a bullet tool in the SE editor... wassupwidat? xD), but part of the fun of restoring builds is trying to get them to match the spirit of the original as best you can. I've gotten better at that, and part of me wants to go back the earlier Mythic builds I restored, and touch those up a bit xD

Yes, my big summer project will be the restoration of the bloodworks builds. I actually found some nice hidden gems there as well, so giving the section my TLC will be very rewarding.
