If I am correct the Demonhunter does not use enchanting int he 1st place. I tried playing this build without using absorb health, it does not work at all. And besides, if you want to play this build without enchanting, just play the Demonhunter. Taking away enchanting from his build is like taking away the bow from the Demonhunter. 

Several hundred potions? That does not sound like no need to heal to me. And no, it does not use enchanting I checked. And still, you are stating your experiences from the Demonhunter, this is not the Demonhunter. The Demonhunter uses a lot of things to survive that this build does not.

The Sternguard does not use alchemy, and it does not use restoration (besides training with a trainer for some extra regen). 

You offered your advice, and he didn't accept it.  It's still his build, not yours.
