First of all, love the article . Very easy to read and follow, and With illustrations to break the text up. I do have something to add about kajiit guts and bowstrings:

It is a common misconception in fantasy that strings for handbows has in some point in history been made of cat-gut, or cattle-gut which cat-gut is short for and includes most big cattle like cows, elk etc. This is plain wrong. Gut material is way too flexible to make useable bowstrings, and the bows that use this kind of strings is violin bows. Basically what I am saying is that the lore saying Kajiit guts was used making bow strings is based on wrong information.

That said, this is a fantasy game, and as With horned helmets, you can't expect it to be accurate. This isnt a critisims of the article, its a FYI kinda deal, just something fun to add.

Again, great article, hope more of these gets written.

Thanks, Tolveor. :) That is quite interesting about those cat-guts. The thing is, this is fantasy, we don't really know Khajjit physiology so we could outright deny it. I know that trying to connect our world with this is kinda tough. I'll give you example. In TES there is quicksilver in solid form, which makes absolutely no sense in ours where it is liquid. So I wouldn't outright deny that khajjit's guts can work as bowstrings. :)

With all that sugar in their systems, anything is possible.

Ebony somehow makes one of the toughest armors in game. Okay... says person who knows quite well that it's a tree in real life.

Ebony is actually quite interesting. I mean, I bet there is actually ebony wood in TES, but the metal..well, it´s not metal, right? It´s some kind of obsidian, volcano glass, right? I guess Bethesda just didn´t want to call it "obsidian"

Yeah i'm not saying khajjit's guts won't work as bowstrings in the TES world.

What i'm saying is that cat-guts won't work as huntingbow-strings in the real world because its for violin bows. Which makes it a bit different i think. It's common knowledge that quicksilver is fluid. Its a common misconception that cat-guts work as strings for any kind of weapons.

Remember what book that is from btw?

Yeah, on that I agree, cat-guts won´t work for hunting bows in our world. And here are the references:

Until the recent truce, most bowstrings were fashioned from Khajiiti gut. Arms and Armor of the Bosmeri Champion, Gosellaneth Sight-Unseen

Strings are also made of sinew; Khajiiti gut is said to work best, and is thus prized among Valenwood archers. Common Arms of Valenwood
