Suggestion Box

  • July 26, 2015

    A place for any feedback on the group or suggestions for what can be done to improve the group then feel free to leave it here. This isn't however a place to air concerns about individual members (or members at all). I will personally address all suggestions and get back to  you ASAP (Though do keep in mind that because of my time zone I might not be able to answer straight away)

    Might as well use it rather then start up a new discussion.

    So I had an idea and I have no idea why I didn't think of it sooner. In regards to tagging I was at a loss to whether just separate per game or something different when this idea came to me (and it's pretty obvious thinking back on it). Why not just tag games per genre? We'd have (as a rough sketch) the following tags

    Fantasy RPG

    Sci-Fi RPG

    FPS

    J-RPG

    Now  I haven't come up with all of them by a long stretch but that might be a decent way to start it off.

    So this is the General Building Group and I think it's a great idea, but how would expansion work? I mean, Albino is steaming ahead with his KotOR builds, but what if he wanted to make a lore article on Revan, or a roleplay supplement about playing as a jedi? What group would such things fit in, if indeed there was an interest in seeing such content?

    Works for me. What's a J-RPG? Japanese?

    That sort of thing would go in the Forums, more specifically in the General Gaming Category. Combining either Roleplay or Lore, or anything beyond what we already have (Tips and Tricks and Builds) would be difficult enough to tag, sort and separate. Creating a separate Lore Group probably wouldn't work that well (Imagine the chaos of a General Lore Group if more then 4 games were even half as fleshed out as Skyrim's).

    So Forums is the go to place for any non Character Building/Tips and Tricks content for General Gaming.

    Yep, J-RPG stands for Japanese Role Playing Game (I'm mostly just too lazy to write it out )

    That makes sense although I'm not sure I agree with it. The message this site sends out is that only Skyrim and Fallout are important to us. This was fine when it was just Skyrim, nice and streamlined and doing exactly what it said on the tin. Expanding to include other games was inevitable but the expansion stopped at just one game. Like Skyrim but not a huge fan of Fallout? Well you're shit out of luck because that's what you're getting.

    I'm not agitating about this, I've been away while these big changes happen and have been given the reasons by Vaz, but I just wanted to share my thoughts as my perspective has been slightly different - outside looking in.

    So I'd like to open this up a bit, to see what games people are interested in seeing. Not what games they're interested in creating for, but just seeing here. I've been noticing people say they're interested in the group, but not the games but we can't introduce new games if nobody starts up the conversation.

    So, what games does everyone want to see here?

    Pillars of Eternity, Dragon Age, KOTOR, maybe Baldur´s Gate and Icewind Dale, Witcher...don´t know what else. Not much interest for me besides these.

    Just looking at my library of games. Dishonored, Dying Light, Dead Space, Assassin´s Creed. These are not really what interests me that much as other those RPG games.

    Some possible suggestions could be:

    - Star Wars games, especially with the new trilogy arising: Jedi Knight/Academy series, KOTOR, SWTOR, Force Unleashed, Battlefront, etc.;

    - small and medium crowdfunding projects: Wasteland 2, PoE, Satellite Reign, Tormend: Tides of Numenera, Shroud of the Avatar, Divinity: Original Sin, etc.;

    - Star Citizen, as the only huge crowdfunding project so far;

    - Dragon Age series;

    - Dark Souls series (mainly for the console pea...um..players );

    - strategy games section - Starcraft, C&C, Civilization, etc.
