Yes, a Nord Warden. I have always enjoyed the Skyrim Companions. Shield-Sister Herja, plays a lot like a companion (including being a werewolf). A simple sword and board build with bow on back bar. There was a mod that extended the Companions quest line a great deal, and I really enjoyed that mod. I decided to start with the AD, just for something different. At level 30, I will be heading to Vvardenfell to do that DLC, just to break up the monotony of leveling, but I will return to the AD to complete that quest line. Hit me up when you want a change of scenery, we can do a dungeon or something. That offer is up for everyone. I’m also available on Discord.

Once I have the funds, I will purchase The Summerset DLC, but med bills are filling my mailbox currently.

That sounds interesting, have you developed a backstory as to how she ended up on that side of the world? Or is it more just a case of circumstance?

I sure will drop you a line, although I'm back to work for the next few days so only really have time to log on to complete my daily crafting writs, and possibly a daily quest  or two. But I'd say don't sweat the level grind, though. The quests are good fun and enjoyable, often granting those all-important skill points :D I know it's sometimes a bear to get a good set of items you enjoy only for them to become obsolete very quickly after, but all those things can be gotten again :)

So yeah, when you get to Vvardenfell or when I'm next off, perhaps we can go through Nchuleftingth - that dungeon drops parts needed to assemble your own Dwemer Theodolite pet, so it's an added incentive to run through it a few times.

The premise of her being in the AD was a total accident. When creating her, I must have switched alliances. There’s nothing wrong with that, and it was actually a nice scenery change from DC and EP, which is where I usually level. She was able to solo 98% of Fungal Grotto, so I am totally willing to try another dungeon. I am still debating wether I go to Vvardenfell of Orsinium....

    Hey guys!

So, I've heard nothing but stellar things about ESO recently, which is fantastic given that I was one of the folks who was unimpressed/disappointed with the beta.

Once I gather my funds together, I was going to give ESO another whirl. Any good builds, quests, factions, etc. that y'all would to recommend for me? If it helps narrow down the selection, I love lighthearted, but solid and smart stories/builds. I am a completionist, but I detest fetch quest chains with a passion that could devour the Sun - sans entropy and into infinity. That is, of course, unless a really OP or godly item sits at the end of the quest chain.

Once I have my account, if you guys will have me, I'd love to join the guild under (most likely) the same IGN as my profile.

Hope to see you all soon!

Helluvah user name! Who doesn't like a butt sandwich? :D Tbh now is a really good time to get back into it, and so much has changed since the beta and early days before One Tamriel/Tamriel Unlimited - whatever. I found it a slog back then, never got higher than level thirty-ish because everything was locked behind level caps and faction/guild progress. That used to burn me out as I'd feel like a lot of the things I was forced to do were those fetch quests needed to advance within a zone just so I could progress the main quest.

I pretty much felt the quality of writing and dialogue went up massivley with the Orsinium dlc, and that set the bar for future content which became Morrowind, Clockwork City, and now Summerset. With the level caps gone and the freedom to go anywhere, it's hard to get burnt out these days as a change of scenery is just a case of following a quest chain into Vvardenfell, Wrothgar, or the Blessed Isle.

As for factions and classes, that's always an interesting discussion. I prefer the Aldmeri dominion because: 1, Ayrenn. 2, Razum-dar, and 3, because it feels like it has the most coherent narrative running through it and recurring characters popping up. The zones are also very pretty.

Ultimately, though, you can just ask yourself what appeals to you in terms of race and theme. I have enjoyed each faction over the years, and AD only wins by a narrow margin.

However, I get the feeling factions are less important now than ever, and am pretty sure I read something indicating ZOS sort of regretted that now. AD might feel more natural these days as the starting tutorial and area will be Summerset if you get that dlc, but the story is very careful to make anyone from any race or faction feel included. Indeed, I don't think Vivec or Sotha Sil ever noticed my character was a cat, and even my Dunmer was referred to as an Outlander when in Vvardenfell :D So that's to say that these days you can play through huge areas with many hours of gameplay without ever starting your faction's quest. By the time you do, you've already rubbed shoulders with legends and have gods on your friends list.

In terms of builds, there's now a level up advisor for each class. This is quite helpful because it recommends skills based upon the type of role you prefer: Damage Dealer, Healer, or Tank, in addition to helping you decide on a primary stat: Magicka, Health, or Stamina. Yet those things are optimisable down to your own comfort level. If you don't intend to go into the competitive end-game stuff, building the character you like will be viable for most things in PVE/questing. Like, I'm planning on going through Summerset again and living my holy knight fantasies with a greatsword-wielding magic-user just to experience that content from Altmeri eyes. I doubt I'd ever be able to take him into a trial, but am pretty confident he'll be able to solo public dungeons and a few world bosses like my turtle cat. And if I do ever change my mind, a quick respec will turn him into a healer pretty quick.

Anyway, yes! You're more than welcome so just let us know when to send the invite :)

Looks like we can start doing a few Group Dungeons, then!
