ESO just released some interesting news. In addition to announcing a rapidly-approaching anniversary event (details to follow), ESO has provided some interesting facts and figures. Through it's four-years:

Total players: 10 million (probably 10M accounts, rather than 10M unique players)

    Total Monsters Killed: 15,881,472,493

    Total Players Killed: 1,346,033,201

Total Number of Soul Gems Used: 1,183,836,570 (the Ideal Masters must be happy!)

Total Number of Quests Completed: 2,064,266,404

Total Number of Items Crafted; 7,415,834,454

Total Number of Achievements Earned: 1,145,234,018

    Most Popular Race: High Elf

    Most Popular Alliance: Ebonheart Pact

Most PvP Kills by Alliance: Ebonheart Pact (Blood for the Pact!)

    Highest Unpaid Bounty: 248,655,731!!!

    Highest Paid Bounty: 362,324

Cool! Interesting figures here, especially the disparity between the most popular race (everyone's just wrong) and the most popular alliance (again, everyone's wrong :P )

Unless the majority of old mary-playing elf-lovers have the Explorer's/Adventurer's Pack, how can both those facts be accurate?

The majority probably do have the any-alliance thing. It comes prebundled in just about every ESO deal these days. High Elf is just too good to pass up for some mage classes.

Because High Elf is the most drastically popular choice in the Dominion, but the Ebonheart Pact races are more evenly played.

I count for two High Elves... blame it on Edana :P

I want to meet the guy who had the highest unpaid bounty, did he manage to kill a guard or something?

I hadn't thought about the optimisation thing. Makes sense now, for a minute my eyes were deceiving me and I assumed it was telling me they were players' favourites: People actually like Altmer?! Preposterous! But they make good casters so that's all that matters.

As for EP, I tried. I tried getting EP'd. I even made two EPs so I could experience an EP DP, but it was a slog. Only Naryu kept the dream alive... :p That said, meeting Almalexia was great. Jorunn was cool, too. Shadowfen was genuinely interesting and unique, Skyrim felt pretty spiritual, Dunmer are still among the best... Huh. Maybe I misjudged them :D

I like the "idea" of the Ebonheart Pact better than any other Alliance. DC is too garden-variety medieval fantasy (with a lot of Necromancy haha), and their king seems like a insecure weakling. AD is great for lore hounding and enjoying interesting lands, but their Alliance is solely focused around Queen Ayren. EP is about "us" - as fragile as that is. I like the concept of the Alliance hanging by a thread, but where we will act as one when it counts even though we all hate each other. As far as questing, I do get a little "Skyrim fatigue" when questing around Eastmarch and The Rift, but Morrowind and Vvardenfell is sufficiently alien for my tastes. Plus, I HATE the way Skyrim portrays most Nords in this game. But, overall, I like EP as an Alliance.
