Tamriel Vault....the Guild!

Alright ESO peeps, with my return to ESO (which is fun and enjoying and looking forward to playing Morrowind when it arrives) I have been hooking up with other Tamriel Vault people and talking to even more via my Twitch streams. This got me thinking....it would be nice to have all the Tamriel Vault ESO people in a

guild that they could use to be able to talk, easily connect, run groups and such, pool resources and likely what I am most excited about....RP!

This would be extremelly casual with pick up events based on who is on and try to keep it more as a hub to support our community on here in game and not to steal away anymore time or effort for myself or anyone else involved as I know we all do quite enough in life that being beholden to events, runs, etc. would be more work and less fun.

In no way do I want to sign up for a giant project or anything but at the current time I am willing to head up the NA PC guild. If others want to brach it out to other servers either consoles or the EU servers I'm happy to support them.

Again this is the roughest of brainstorms on this topic and would like to just see what the community thinks.

As far as a guild theme I was kinda thinking like what we have for the Lore section of the site with the House of Orsimar Glories where we focus to be neutral in lots of ways and can integrate with existing site events, themes, lore set up, etc.

So let me know what you think and we can put our heads together about this!

One problem with starting a guild is ESO's current life cycle. Despite news reports to the contrary, there are not a whole lot of new players joining. Lots of people are creating new accounts (for many reasons), but not as many unique accounts. This means that, for the people who are interested in guilds, those people have most likely settled into a guild they like. Recruitment, from what I've been told by my guild leaders, is very tough at the moment. This doesn't mean that a TV guild is not do-able. It will take, however, a lot of work on the part of guild leadership, who are ok with seeing little fruit. I'm at work now, so I'll expand on this later.

I'd honestly join when I download all the updates. I, as of yet, have no guild.

Hey Patriarch. Yeah I know what you mean I think if we thought of the guild as more N extension of the site and less it’s own thing and trying to build it and just take it for what it is and give people on here an option to get together when able and run some dungeons or RP a little would just be nice and leave it casual but fun. Little something else to add to the experience of the game. Looking forward to more thoughts!

The 'problem' with the concept - whilst definitely worthy - is that the Vault members who play ESO will inevitably be spread over the different servers.

I'd be really interested, but I'm PS4 EU. See my point? How many people realistically can there be here who are on PS4 EU

(I'd be willing to jump across to PS4 NA if that helped...but that's all I can offer, I'm afraid!)

Even a small guild has benefits, though. There are only a few of you for now but having a community centre would do a lot of good even before running events. Like, what is the cost of getting a bank and is it a one-off purchase? I think that even that resource would be good if each starting member can have access to withdraw items as it really helps crafters. All the recipes you find that are dupes can just go in the bank for another guildie, or traits on items stockpiled so that finding a mace with the precise trait is slightly easier for the next person. Plus, members could donate master crafting writs so that good stuff can be bought like target dummies or attuned crafting stations for the designated guild hall. These things really help new guys, I think, and aren't as hard to get compared to a trader, say.

Paul correctly identified the 2nd challenge ro a TV guild - number of people. Newly-recruited members would need to be okay with having a very small guild. Small guilds can't offer as many activitied az a larger one can, obviously. Recruitment would have to be directed specifically to the casual player who only needs a guild for certain things. But then again, small guilds will inevitably have long periods of time where no one else is online. For most, that would not he an issue. For others, they might think, if the only reason for joining is to do "x" but no one is online to do "x", then why am I here. It may not be an issue in the long run. As for guild banks, they are free but you have to have 10 members to get one. Of you go less than 10, you lose the ability to store anything (though your items can be removed ). I am in 4 guilds, each for a different purpose. But I haven't been online in a while due to real life commitments.

Ten people, ok that's good to know. Like you, Patriarch, I am in a few guilds which I use for specific purposes. One of them is tiny but has a bank stockpiled and I just know how much time it's saved me. I give back what I take either in gold, a similar trated item, or a percentage of the vouchers the reward for turning in a master writ gave me. I'm thinking that ten members with access to recources that makes theirs and other members here live's easier could be pursuaded to help as it would be mutually beneficial. I mean, how many of you have treasure maps that you never use but can't bring yourself to part with? Each chest will have traited items that could be in the community storage, plus possibly a fun event to do a community treasure hunt if you each have the same Morrowind CE treasure maps. Even low key stuff like that may appeal to start with.

Or even skyshard hunts. As a team, get together and just get each shard in every zone. Kind of gentle stuff but useful to all. Boring alone, but with good company and banter, probably the best evening spent that month.
