An interesting April Fools Jester's Day event! Gods only know exactly what zaniness is in store, but here's the official post to get you all excited for mischief:

Once a year, troupes of jesters and fools gather and encourage the people of Tamriel to toss aside their notions of status, honor, and class in a celebration of absurdity. Performers roam the streets mocking the rich and famous, towns celebrate with a variety of traditional festive pranks, and guests are encouraged to participate in silly games to win joke prizes.

The Jester's Festival kicks off on March 23, at 14:00 GMT. If you'd like to show off your zany side, you can travel to the pavilions that have been set up just outside the cities of EbonheartVulkhelGuard, and Daggerfall. At each location, you will find one of three Jesters in extremely convincing dress up as either King Jorunn, Queen Ayrenn, or King Emeric. Talk to each Jester to receive a uniquely mischievous task once per day for the duration of the festival.

Of course, we do not expect you to take on these epic labors from the goofiness of your own heart. When you complete a daily task for one of the Jesters, you will receive a Jester's Festival Box that can provide some seriously silly rewards, including:

    • A new hat – The Crown of Misrule
    • A host of fun new consumables
    • Unique Jester's Festival mementos:
      • Cherry Blossom Branch
      • The Pie of Misrule
    • New Jester's Festival Housing items:
      • Jester's Large and Small Trees
      • Jester's Standard

There are also hosts of new Achievements you can earn throughout the duration of the event, including one that grants the completely legitimate title of Royal Jester!

Finally, throughout the duration of the event, the Crown Store will feature some Jester's Festival-themed items, including:

    • Royal Court Jester costume
    • Bi-Color Coxcomb Cap
    • Fool's Cap and Masque
    • Ass-Ears Jester Cap
    • The Jester personality

The Jester's Festival concludes on Tuesday, April 4, at 14:00 GMT, so make sure you do your part to bring some silliness back to Tamriel!

I just completed the Jester's Fest (in terms of getting the achievement) ^ there's my hat :D And I have the title "Lord of Misrule" which I shall wear proudly. Hey, what is that symbol near Sir Yves' right boot?

I highly recommend this festival, it doesn't take long to complete, offers some nice contradictory lore on how it began (Ysgramor started it, of course - nice to see that running gag continued) and the social commentaries from the Jester monarchs are awesome. The jokes are nicely lame enough to make you smile:

I think the symbol either means that you need to repair or recharge your weapon or other piece of equipment.

I was in the middle of completing this when my internet slowed down, so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Are you after that Royal Jester title, master Fool? :D

Thanks for the symbology education, Golds :) I wil keep an eye out if it goes after I get my stuff repaired. It cost 320 gold or thereabouts last time, I am never going to afford a house! As for charging my weapons, well if I am lucky I may have a soul gem in my inventory :D

Edit: So I have another question regarding the "Art Reward." This screenshot of my achievement indiactes something, but what is it and how do I claim it?

I tried google but it mentioned Achievement Vendors, which confused me further. What is an achievement vendor and how do they work?

Ah, so it's already started. Good thing I read this post, then.

I had a great time with this little festival. I absolutely agree--the quest for the Jester Skald King alone was worth it. xD

If you haven't had a chance to play it yet, I recommend it. I'm also quite enjoying the title, "Lady of Misrule." :D
