Hello everyone! As you might have noticed, ESO has been getting a bit more attention here on the Vault due to the upcoming release: Morrowind. If you haven't heard anything about Morrowind, check out these posts: Video Trailer and ESO in 2017

Quite frankly, there's never been a better time to try out ESO. Many of you have already told me that you plan to start playing for the first time or plan to dust off that old copy and get back into the game.

Time for me to put my money where my mouth is (such a weird expression)

For all who would like to play, but are unsure how to play effectively or who simply need help leveling their character, I have an offer. I am wiling to dedicate several nights a week to giving you (or a small group of Vaulters) personal direction in-game. We can go over your build, a proper rotation of skills to increase your damage potential, run dungeons, questing/skyshard hunting, level grinding . . . whatever you want. I've offered this in the past but have not been able to meet with any takers thus far (I'm looking at you RogueSilver - sorry). But, it's time to get serious. If you start now, you can more than easily be at level 50 with 160 CPs by the time Morrowind drops. Of course, you don't have to be at max level to play Morrowind, but it's something to think about. Remember, you can choose any alliance you want since One Tamriel removed the cross-alliance grouping restrictions.

Best of all - it's free! haha. But of course you knew that already.

Caveat #1: All my characters are on Xbox NA server. No, I do not own a PS4 or a PC capable of running ESO, so I can't help you guys (so sorry). For those on Xbox EU, if you are willing to start a new character on the NA server, this offer extends to you as well. Why should you switch from EU to NA? Well, other than getting hands-on tutoring, one of my characters is a master crafter. He will be able to craft you some amazing gear to aid you in your journey.

Caveat #2: A little about me...I'm married and have kids. I also have a full time job (although you wouldn't know it from the amount of posting I do at work. lol). This means that my time is limited. The best times for me are as follows: Weekdays around 10:00pm (est) through midnight-ish. Weekends are flexible.

Caveat #3: It would be very helpful if you had a headset. It would be difficult to give directions in a combat scenario through text chat.

If you are interested in this, Please leave a comment below with your platform and server information as well as availability. By the way, these are my characters:

Awesome post, Pat! To be fair, I've also had to take a raincheck a few times as well, so don't take all the blame for yourself, you selfish bastard :p. Next paycheck I get, I'm buying a headset. Probably a cheap one, but at least it'll work!

I can vouch for this guy, he taught me pretty much everything I know about ESO and we've never even played before, lol. If you're thinking about starting out, you may as well learn from Yoda.

Thanks for the kind words, Rogue!

I'm not sure I'm skilled enough to be called Yoda, but I promise to not have my character sit on anyone's back.

I've def been toying with getting into ESO - Morrowind has peaked my interest. Can you tell me what the deal is with crown points? Why would I buy these? Do I need a lot to get started? Do you ever have to buy any? And what's the dif between all of the game purchase options in the stores? Like, do I buy Tamriel Unlmited and the Morrowind edition? It's just all kind of confusing...thanks.

Good questions. "Crowns" are the currency to use in the Crown Store: ESO's version of a cash shop/microtransactions. You buy Crowns with real money and then use the crowns in the store. There is absolutely NO real need to buy crowns or anything from the Crown Store. All of the items in the Crown Store are purely cosmetic or for utility. For example, the most use I got from the Crown Store was to buy upgrades to my horses' speed and to increase my inventory and personal bank space; however, I can do that with in-game gold (I'm just lazy). You can buy DLCs in the Crown Store, costumes for your characters, and now you can buy houses for your characters. To reiterate, everything in the Crown Store (with the exception of certain costumes) is available for purchase with in-game gold. Anything else would be pay-to-win, and ESO is definitely not that.

As for Morrowind, you have the option of purchasing the Morrowind upgrade (if you already own the base game) or the Morrowind edition which includes the base game and Morrowind. I'm not sure yet if the Morrowind edition includes the all the DLCs, but I tend to doubt it.

Wow, what a great post, way to go Patriarch, I am getting ESO tomorrow (Tuesday) as its the only day I can get out. So I played before on the EU Server are we allowed to switch servers then? presumably so.  So with Morrowind in mind is there a CD out there that comes complete? or do the DLCs need extra investment Tamriel Unlimited is the one I used to own before giving it away.

Sorry for asking so much all in one gobful mate. Oh and yes ill get a head set

When you log into the game, you have to intially select which server (NA or EU) you want to use. You can have characters on NA and EU (I know a few guys who have characters on both servers). However, you cannot switch an existing character to another server. For example, once you start one on EU, it stays on EU.

I'm not entirely sure about the Morrowind bundles. If you buy the Gold Edition, you will get the base game plus all 4 DLCs. Then, in June (unless you pre-order), you can get the Morrowind upgrade.

A templar anything - damage dealer or healer - is very forgiving for new players. The rotation of skills is very easy and the Templar's healing abilities will help you survive. As for Deltia, I like that he takes time to explain how to play the game, and not just post builds for people to copy.
