Seriously, this is a great oppotunity to try out ESO or to get back into the game. One Tamriel has significantly changed ESO for the better. The classes are better balanced and the servers are full of people. It's a lot of un to visit the places in Tamriel that you've only read about in lore books! Give it a shot...you won't regret it!

Hmm. I´ve been feeling like playing ESO again this few past days. And once I finish my Event Build I´ll probably will.

Btw, Pat. Let´s say, hypotetically, that my friend has a character in Daggerfall Covenant and got the character to level 45. He did it mostly because he wanted to run around Alikr, which is the only interesting location in Covenant, and now he finds himself unable to play that character because of how Covenant is boring. Could you give my...friend an advice? xD

Downloading it now. I've been meaning to give it a go, so why not, right? Though... I probably won't play too much because I'm way too excited for Planet Coaster. xD

Excellent! Have any idea of what class/alliance you want to start. I few of us can give you some solid tips.

I'm going in almost completely blind! I have no idea what classes exist! :D I'm probably going to go with an Imperial character, though, since I tend to default to them in any TES title.

EDIT:  So, apparently, it's taking 4 hours to download ESO. That said, Planet Coaster is unlocked in around 2. I probably won't play ESO until tomorrow or something.

Haha. I agree that the Alik'r Desert is amazing. It's easily one of my favorite places in ESO.

As for what to do next, you have a few options at level 45:

    1) You can finish the MQ and get the opportunity to do the other alliances questlines.

    2) You can run around the other alliance areas and pick up side-quests.

    3) You can join a group to do a group dungeon (this alone will make you re-think how you play a character. :D)

    4) You could quest in Craglorn. This area has been completely revamped in One Tamriel to make the majority of the are solo-able. There's only one or two areas that would be helpful to have another join you (although not really if you are pretty good at playing your character).

    5) If you have them, you could quest in the DLC zones. Dark Brotherhood was pretty good. Orsinium is pretty amazing, too.

Truth to be told, I got to level 45 mostly by doing Daily Dungeons. Nightblade Healer biatch! I mean...my friend. xD Whatever. Yeah, Covenant is just boring as fuck for me.

So with Tamriel One I can go to Craglorn now, yeah?

And finishing MQ...If I get it right, if I don´t finish it, I can go to other Alliances´ locations, but can´t start their Alliance questline? If I finish MQ, I can do Dominion questline, hm?

I already played through Orsinium, which brings me to another question. Is it worth running around there once you do it´s storyline? Which was pretty much the reason I played it. Story and Lore.

Speaking of Lore, I´m kinda curious...where would you send a Loremaster on his hunt for Lore? :D

ESO is a huge game, for sure.

I'm not sure you'll have the ability to choose an Imperial, which was originally locked behind an upgrade paywall. However, One Tamriel brought a lot of changes so I'm not positive.

The 4 classes (sorcerer, dragonknight, templar, nightblade) can be played as a stamina variant or a magicka variant. So, the first step is deciding how you want to play. For a newbie, I'd suggest either a Templar (you'll get access to robust healing abilities) or a sorcerer (you'll be able to unlock daedric summons. Not only will the sumons help you as you solo quest, but they can also morph into a summon that can heal you).

Balls. Then I'll have to improvise and play, uh... a Breton? Or something.

Typically, I enjoy tanks (Fighters/Paladins in Neverwinter, Blade Masters/Kung Fu Masters in Blade and Soul, Vanguards in Revelation Online, etc.) that are somewhat mobile and have the ability to solo dungeons. I play solo 99% of the time, but I do enjoy supporting a party (usually through Crowd Control or light healing). I hate summons (terrible experiences dealing with Summoners and Warlocks in Blade and Soul) with a fiery passion and refuse to even touch them. xD

EDIT:  I forgot to mention that I love high-difficulty classes. For example, BnS's BMs were a 4.5-star difficulty, and KFMs were 5-stars. RO's Vanguards are 4-star difficulty ratings. (out of 5 stars)

Yep, that's right. Craglorn is a very interesting zone...very "alien" in its atmosphere.

Right again. I enjoyed the Dominion questline, especially when they took me to the Valenwood area.

Yes and no. It depends on what you want to do. There are a ton of side-quests, but they get little bit on the "go fetch" side (if that makes sense). Orsinium has a Rkindaleft, which is technicaly a group Dwemer ruin, but I was able to do it solo.

Well, loremaster, I'd say it depends on the type of lore you are seeking. Each alliance area deles into the lore of each race, albeit superficially at times. These are the bigger and more exciting lore areas:

Bosmer lore: there's plenty of it in the AD, especially dealing with the Spinners.

Nord lore: a big feature of EP quest line is Wuuthrad and the Companions, but you have to wait toward the end the questline to see it.

Celestial lore (stones and constellations): Craglorn - this was actually pretty interesting.
