Tell Us About Your Characters

The artist quest... Is that the one involving the rare flower and which gives you a painting to put in your house as a reward? If so then I enjoyed that quest too and should really play it again. I remember liking the individual points of view and coming across characters who showed me the other side of things, gently showing in a quiet way that not all Altmer were like the Sapiarch in Lillandril, just the most vocal. So I'm definitely interested in hearing how Dorcas-Anya reacts to other scenarios!

My main has a roleplay file, but I have an alt that I greatly enjoy the backstory of.

    Name: Nerva Marcellus

    Race: Imperial

    Birth: 2E 559

    Class: Templar

    Alliance: Daggerfall Covenant

Backstory: Nerva was born to a poor family in the city of Kvatch. His mother died when he was very young and his father, filled with despair, developed a drinking problem that ended up to him attacking a guard, leading the child parentless. A priest at the Temple of Akatosh adopted the infant shortly after and raised him among the clergy.

The boy was pushed to become a priest from a young age, and he was taught various restorative and defensive magics over the years. He quickly found he deeply enjoyed helping people, but felt he would be better suited protecting people than helping them after they're hurt, and so convinced a friend in the Order Of The Hour to secretly train him in combat and sunfire magic in his early teens.

Between his priestly and combat training he was torn about what to do with his life, but the answer came in 2E 576. He's always disliked that Emperor Leovic had legalized Daedric Worship which was something that both the Order and Clergy preached against, and when Varen Aquilarios sparked a rebellion he was immediately headed out to join.

Nerva learned a large amount in the rebellion. He became exceptionally proficient with many kinds of blades and found himself incredibly proficient with spears specifically, the latter of which led to a battlemage showing him how to summon his very own spear which Nerva promptly combined with Sunfire magic to create a holy weapon. The soldier rose quickly through the ranks, earning the rank of Sergeant mere months in and becoming a Centurion near the end of the war.

After the war, Nerva was reassigned to Legion Zero, and was inside the city when the Daedra took over and the majority of Legion Zero went rogue. He had to fight his way out from his post at the Imperial Palace. Since then he has been in Cyrodiil combatting the Daedra and working as a mercenary employed by the Daggerfall Covenant... and he couldn't feel more at peace with himself.

Nice, that's a good backstory and you've put a lot of thought into it. I imagine meeting Captain Caudex for the Drake of Blades quests would be an important rp moment. Have we seen a picture of Nerva Marcellus before?

No picture as I haven't played ESO in some time truth be told. And yes, Captain Caudex was a very important moment for him though in my more expansive backstory they were never part of the same Maniple so they didn't know each other and Nerva, despite being the ranking officer, let Caudex control the operations since this was still his unit.

This is my main Gulum-Zeeus Argonian Dragonknight. I've played as him since I started playing ESO (EU) back in 2016 and have created one or two other characters to try out different classes but have always returned to my main. He's been through the main ESO story plus Cadwell's Silver and the two expansions Morrowind and Summerset. Next thing on his to visit list is Elsweyr.

He's specialises in two handed weapons with spells from the Ardent Flame and Draconic Power skill trees as secondaries. He's an expert in all of them but will only use two at a time due to his limited magika. He's a tank build and does not do much damage compared to other builds but I'm working on that.

I don't tend to really role play but I guess he could be a long distant relative of my Skyrim character which would make sense, well to me at least. His personality is friendly towards most others he meets his only dislike being the Altmer who he sees as intolerable jerks and will only deal with them unless he really has to. Although he is the Vestige and hero of Tamriel he does not like to brag about it and does not like to show off. He just likes to go about his ways as a mercenary helping others and dispatching his enemies. As long has he gets paid that's all he cares about. He also takes a dim view to those who treat his kind with disdain and memories of slavery are fresh in his mind. However he's the forgiving kind and knows that not all Dark Elves are like that.

His backstory, well I haven't really thought about that. Obviously he was killed at some point and ended up in Coldharbor then was brought back to life but so far I've just imagined he was killed in the Alliance / three banners war. He hasn't been to Cyrodiil since. As he does not like to spend too long away from the Hist he returns to Black Marsh reguarly. His home was sold after his death so he's currently homeless but lives the life as a nomad wandering from place to place spending time in inns and taverns.

    Guess that's it I suppose.

He looks great, Teekus! You say you don't rp that much but he definitely has a well thought out personality and sense of self. I'll be curious to know if this thread prompts you to dive into his backstory and explore that more fully.

This is my necromancer, Kizurr. Kizurr's life is defined by death and loss, just one more orphan of the Knahaten Flu. Born in 2E 556 in the town of Orcrest, he was still a cub when the Crimson Plague swept through Elsweyr, ravishing its populace and killing Khajiit by the litter, by the pride, and by the entire tribe. His parents and littermates succombed to the disease as they fled north to Dune, leaving Kizurr frightened and alone in the world. Lost among the sands and canyons of Elsweyr, a small cub trying to protect the bodies of his family from the desert's wildlife, Kizurr was discovered by an old and melancholic cat named Zimesh-ri, an Adept, who took young Kizurr with him to Jodewood. In a small house on the banks of the Crescent River, Kizurr was raised in isolation and taught the fundementals of arcana, theology, and philosophy.

Master Zimesh-ri wasn't unkind, just distant and driven by his own grief, trying to make sense of why the moons had abandonned him, his people, and his beloved. Kizurr, fearing that he was contagious, a carrier of the Knahaten Flu, rarely left the house despite the presence of the nearby town of Rawl'kah. His only friends were the Master's camel, the pet khrasaat, and the many books in the house's library. Zimesh-ri, growing old and needing more assistance in his own research, eventually started teaching Kizurr the dark and esoteric practices of necromancy. Age and a broken heart, though, finally caught up with Master Zimesh-ri before his mysterious plans could see fruition. Alone in the world once again, Kizurr buried the old cat by the river under a cairn. Forced to leave more frequently and establish his own source of income, Kizurr started spending more time in town. There he learned of a new threat terrorizing the land of his birth, for rumour had it Dragons had returned.

Resolved to discover the truth for himself, Kizurr made prepaerations to leave. There was one, final loss to endure: His only friend, the khrasaat. Unable to let the bird go, Kizurr fashioned a bone construct in the form of Alkosh to house the soul of his friend. Then, on the back of his faithful camel, they left Jodewood for the long ride back to Anequina, Kizurr ever fearful that wherever he went, death followed after.
