I chuckled a bit at the "complete block on certain historical events" thing, Meli. ESO's dialogue system is great but sometimes it makes you feel like you're playing the thickest character ever :D "Who are the Tribunal?" "What's Red Mountain?" "Who is Lord Vicec?" Cool you're doing Summerset! Any standout quests so far you've really enjoyed?

We seem to be channelling Jessica Fletcher (Murder she wrote) or irradicating imps, just until I improve my skills with the controls, still struggling a bit on that.

Man, Murder She Wrote takes me back! Does that mean you did the Ghost of the Green quest?

The combat gets easier as you get used to it, don't worry. It's just a bit more tactical than a normal TES game. It might be helpful to look up Paul's guides - I remember he had some good info on combat and when/why to use certain skills :)

Lol we're probably giving our age range away by remembering that :)

Yes, Ghost of the Green and Murder in Lillandril, although I seem to stumble over random dead bodies in the inns that I can't investigate :-/ Possibly the Dark Brotherhood initiates?

Will dig out Paul's guide and have a look

Don't worry, at least where I am in Australia that show is on almost constant repeat during the day, so unless you were to reveal that you remember seeing it the first time around you're good :P

But also that was a weird show about a murderous old woman who spent her time getting others convicted for her crimes...

Was that what it was about, Golds? It's possible I missed the subtext :D Meli, what is your opinion on those two quests, may I ask? Did you enjoy them? Did the dialogue system add more depth to the adventures? Did you feel as though they gave you any insight into High Elven culture? I know we're at risk of straying a bit off-topic but I'm curious to know :)

I've always believed that she was behind all the murders in that show. It just seems too convenient that she was there to help "solve" all of them, plus her ability to work out exactly how it happened and each murder providing inspiration for her books.

I certainly enjoyed the Ghost of the Green, I think I had some opinions of the high elves confirmed by their treatment of the wood elves, and the reaction to the newcomer. The murder in Lillandril was harder to feel happier about the result, I was very much in two minds which route to take. The prejudices and also the hierarchy of the high eleves also shone through on this one, you can see the seedlings of the future peeking through.

I felt the same about Murder in Lillandril, it really is a hard one to make a call on. It might be too early, but did you use it as a roleplay exercise and base your decision upon what Dorcas-Anya thought was right? I find a lot of the decisions we get to make can really help make each character feel different. I totally get the rigidity of their hierarchy and their prejudices really being apparent in that quest. Thanks for sharing that, I suppose my next question would be has there been anything so far which has surprised you or challenged your view on the Altmer and paint them in a more sympathetic light?

I think I may have reacted differently to Dorcas-Anya, I think she may walk closer to the line than I would so it will be interesting to see how it progresses. An artist in Lillandril surprised me with something akin to kindness to a wood elf, it made me glad of the decisions taken during the quest.
