How do you handle clothing and armor if playing a Khajiit or Argonian? Are you just super-lucky enough to somehow always find armor with a tailhole despite Skyrim being mostly Elves and Men? Does it take a while to get your first piece of armor because you have to find a tanning rack, smelter/forge, skin animals, and mine ore?

    Awwwooo Mitch

    An interesting question.

I near always play as my Argonian Sotek, whether it's ES 3 Morrowind, ES IV or Skyrim. Morrowind though makes this decision for you. Beast races cannot wear boots or helms so I impliment thi sin my char by having Unarmored as a skill. Over the last few years in Skyrim  I have moved away from having my Argonian wear helms although he does have boots. His typical armor sets have been Iron, Nordic Carved and Dragonscale. (He tried Wolf Armor but that never went well. Kept falling on his backside).

Casual wear isn't an issue for him though. he often goes bare foot in Whiterun and his typical attire is a scruffy white? Miner's shirt and brown trousers with a rather large hole cut our for his tail.

An interesting note for him though. he did try out a mages robe. This does remove the need for 'adjustments' but the robe caused his tail no ends of frustration so he quickly gave that up. The tail just felt too confined. Also the hood caused several issues, what with his bone spikes. Aela laughing at him was the final straw.

I never wear full helmets on my Argonians unless they have feathers, no horns, or really short horns. At most, I'll wear a hood that looks like it can stretch enough to cover the head... that is until I got mods that allowed horns to stick out of my hoods. which brings me to the next paragraph below:

I wear specific armors through the game, usually either self crafted or modded gear I start out with because nowadays I'll usually start with a modded armor and use various additions to make it more powerful as the character becomes more powerful, but the second idea only really works if you play with an Alternate Start mod, which I always do.

Not gonna lie, when it comes to stuff like this I'm a pretty naff RPer. If it's clothing made of 'soft' material (clothes, Leather/Fur Armour) it can't be that hard to stad a tale-sized hole into the back-end, so that's that. If It's heavier stuff I do what I do with all armour I find - take it to a smith to adjust. Maybe for Beast Races taking the armour to a more cosmopolitan city would make more sense, as the smiths are more likely to of had to deal with armour outfitted for Beast Races before, although they'd probably be making it suitable for Men, not the other way around.
