Ordinator - T&T Desk

  • September 14, 2017

Alright. If it's possible in theory, I guess it's time for me to try it out. I just wanted to incorperate sneak into some way with the Bosmer character I'm planning, but I didn't want it to be the normal amount of broken. Hopefull this works out, and thanks for the help! :D

So I'm finally going to be releasing another set of guides that look into the Destruction Spells in a bit of a shorter way. What I'm going to be doing is breaking down each spell from Vanilla Skyrim (I don't think I'll ever be able to get into uh Apocolypse Spells) and explaining every way it can be bolstered by any perk that would affect it in Ordinator. I'm starting off with Flames, then Sparks, Frostbite, etc and just for shits and giggles, while I'm doing this I'll be starting off my Discord Server.

Basically, my Discord will just be a weird way for me to quickly talk about stuff with people without needing to drop these long posts. I've got a T&T section, Streaming section, Building section etc. And will happily talk about just about anything with almost anyone.

Fair enough, let me know if I got it wrong, it's been known to happen but if it does end up broken then I'll rethink my thoughts about Sneak :)

Aight! Just signed up to Discord, but it says I don't have permission to view the channel's history or permission to post, and it's not the verification email. Could you check if you need to set it to public or something?

Ah I see what I've done. What I've done is set up roles but forgot to allow everyone to just comment normally, it should be good now Felkros and I also gave you the 'Member' role so that you can move out of Introduction.

I was wondering how the passive skills in Ordinator, particularly the Illusion passives, work when transformed into a vampire Lord or werewolf. Do they still grant their effects?

Sheeeet, that's a good question Mer. My answer (without testing) is going to be that I'm about 90% sure that it should work but yeah, something I'd have to test. Going to be testing Imposing Presence in a build this month, so I should be able to test this pretty easily Mer, will get back to you ASAP on it.

Here's a nice little tip to get you started on the destruction guide DB:

Ordinator makes novice Destruction spells OP. I'm serious, Ordinator has a lot of perks that buff your damage if you can land consecutive hits fast enough. Either by making the first hit reduce the enemies resistance to that element for a few seconds or by making the second hit trigger an explosion. These can be pretty powerful because it's supposed to be tricky to pull off. Which it is...if you're using projectiles. However, the game treats concentration spells as a multitude of small rapid-fire spells. Making Novice spells the best in the game for activating the various debuffs and explosions that Ordinator gives destruction spells, including:

Shatter - Frost spells that hit a frost resistant target fragment and explode in a 15 foot area, reducing frost
resistance by 25% for 10 seconds. This effect stacks.
Scaring Burns - Fire spells reduce the fire resistance of their targets by 20% for 5 seconds.
Flash Fire - Fire spells have 15% chance to ignite the target for 2 seconds. The next instance of fire damage that
hits an ignited target (except burning ground) detonates, dealing 100% more damage and causing a living target to flee
    the flames for 4 seconds.
Cataclysm - Fire spells that hit targets affected by burning ground explode for 20% of their current Health (max.
250 damage), blasting them into the air and reducing magic resistance by 25% for 6 seconds. This effect has a 45
    second cooldown.

Notice a pattern? Yup. Flames is pretty damn viable late game thanks to some powerful perks. In fact, skipping the dual casing perk and equipping Flames in both hands can be a very powerful option for high level mages.

Ice might not have the same potential that fire does to base entire builds around only novice spells, but Shatter's stacking debuff still makes Frostbite a powerful companion spell for any other Ice based spell or enchantment you want to put in your other hand.

Oh, and for fans of Shock who are feeling left out, there aren't any "consecutive hits boost DPS" perks, but concentration spells do still greatly increase the rate at which you can activate:

Magnetize - Shock spells have 15% chance to lift the target into the air for 2 seconds, preventing movement.

Combined with sparks, that 15% chance becomes substantially more reliable. Making Magnetize a pretty decent replacement for the Impact perk that Ordinator is missing. It isn't as guaranteed as Impact, but it's close enough. Plus, the fact that you no longer need to dual cast it balanced by the short range of sparks makes it particularly well suited to be used along side melee weapons. Spellblades are no longer filled with envy over their sword -n- board brother's ability to shield bash stagger.

I've got a bit of a guide for Flames up already, but yeah Concentration Spells (and Novice Spells in general) can get really powerful with Ordinator. But yeah, I've been kind of slowing down on it because I still haven't actually played with Destruction yet (and thus fully tested anything), so if it's something your already looking at and you wanted to write a guide, well feel free Tyso :D

If not, I'll get around to it at some point, probably...eh, well this month I'm busy with Event Builds, next month I've got a build I've been working on for a week or two now...eh alright it would happen by June :P

What I just wrote would pretty much be my guide. Lol. I'm pretty good at finding little tricks like that but frankly I would have no idea where to start breaking thing's down mathematically the way you do. Not that I'm opposed to fleshing this idea out into a full fledged Ordinator Concentration guide, I just don't think I'd be able to give people a fundamental understanding of the destruction perks as a whole.
