Advanced One-Handed Combat with the Left Hand

Hello there! This post is a long time coming and I have searched for the keywords: one-handed, left hand but I haven't seen any post about this glitch yet.

EDIT: Apparently a build uses this already, The Wild Artificer by The Mighty DB. Thanks to Relycs for pointing it out.

    The Inspiration

This was actually an accidental discovery, inspired by Advanced Unarmed Combat used in The Obliterator Build by Zach. Basically Advanced Unarmed Combat is performed by going into 3rd person and while attacking, quickly moving the camera/yourself back and forth will generate extra hits on the target.

    The Glitch (Tested on PC)

The same concept is used on Advanced One-Handed Combat. Equipping the sword/dagger on the left hand, going into 3rd person and moving the camera/yourself back and forth will produce additional hits. I used swords initially and switched to daggers. Using swords will be more difficult on pulling this off as opposed to daggers. I'm assuming that it's because of the attack speed.

I tested this on walls hearing 2-3 hits in one swing. Dual-wielding will increase the attack speed of swords making it easier to do this technique and also Elemental Fury (this is only from memory and will have to confirm it again when I get to the game).

    The Implications

Right of the bat this can drastically increase damage output and can make fights pretty favorable although it still poses a bit of risk:

    • It eliminates blocking, making yourself quite vulnerable to attacks.
    • Enemies that block are harder to use this one as the sword animation is canceled. You will need to knock them out (Unrelenting Force or A left hand power attack). Generally though it presents some challenge and is quite rewarding when you manage to get the hang of it.
    • Using this technique, in my experience, is troublesome as the occurrence of an extra hit hard to pull off when using swords. Daggers are much better because of their attack speed but still needs some practice to do.

Overall it presents a new way to fight using swords or daggers on the left hand.

    Further Testing

    • I can't remember if I tested it on Axes and Maces but I assume it should work the same way, only harder to pull off.
    • If any console users are interested in testing please do so and share the results if it works.

Thank you for reading and comments are appreciated and if there are any errors in my post please do tell me.
