The Potent Blizzard Glitch

Stability won't work, it's not Alteration. I think Necromage does, since technically you cast it on yourself?

Also, are you sure the two separate resistances are additive? I thought they were applied multiplicatively (50% + 50% * 50%)?

Also, can I see your calculations for the 246 DPS? EDIT: Also, could you check your Active Effects for the magnitudes of the Weakness to Frost/Magic while casting Blizzard with the three potions? That could make things clearer.

I haven't made any calculations. The numbers are taken from pure play-testing. Just watch the video.

With the same potions I used in the video, Active Effects shows a -48% Magic Resistance and a -89% Frost Resistance. This does not include the effects of the Apprentice Stone and Fortify Destruction. Judging from the maximum damage, I bet Restoration amplifies the damage too without showing it in the active effects.

    Alright, saw the vid.

So, with Augmented Frost it was 30 damage. That's doubled with the Apprentice Stone, 60.

    +75% (Fortify Destruction Potion) = 60 + 45 = 105.

Now here's the tricky part. I believe the two weaknesses will add separately.

    0.48 * 105 = 50.4

    0.89 * 105 = 93.45

    105 + 50.4 + 93.45 = 248.85!

So that seems to be the right calculation, it's only off by a margin. I'll try some other numbers, as I too am interested in this technique. EDIT: I don't think Restoration actually does amplify it. I bet it works similarly to Cloaks, in that it only affects the range. Of maybe it doesn't affect any of it, who knows.

Well, Restoration clearly boosts the Weakness to Magic & Frost effects. The potions should normally decrease Magic Resistance by 24% and Frost Resistance by 36%.

Wait an increase to the range of Blizzard would actually be really good, well that's obvious but it could be just as good as increasing the power of the spell. The ability to use Blizzard from a further range then usual (and hit more targets) could actually be more beneficial in terms of damage not to mention Blizzard passes through Walls and Trees doesn't it (I think it does can't be certain. it's not a spell I use much). Just imagine the tactical uses of a wider-ranged spell, clear enemies in a room next to you without entering at all (and thus not being seen).

Oh I know Restoration amplifies the potions, I just don't think it amplifies Blizzard, at least not its magnitude. Area might be something worth testing.
