A wee ditty I wrote, using the Old Altmeris from the Imperial library. First try to rhyme in the language and get a rough syllable count. Third line is off by one syllable. Sweet irony that each has 9 syllables, save the third which has 10. Tehehehe...

    Aettus av pas-Mer

    Ali nan va pas umbra-ulun

    Ali nan va fanacas-vabra

Ali nan va Auri-El ae Anu

    A hecan sou fe’angua Chasca

    Song of a Sea-Mer

Glory be to the ocean deep-blue

Glory be to the white-foamed wave

Glory be to Auri-El and Anu

I leave my fate to you.

A short and sweet Atmoran war ballad, something with a nice Nordic taste to it.

Upon beaching on the shore, our ship did then violently yaw

So we launched over the gunwale bringing death's mighty draw

As the elves charged our beach head, wheeling towards the dragon's maw,

We beared naked steel and with fire we guffawed!

Running at the dagger-eared devils, swinging axe, tooth, and claw,

We sung a song so bloody that the Gods were struck with awe

After our weapons ripped and tore through elven flesh and jaw,

The pointy-eared bastards did then cowardly withdraw

Thus was the day that the Sons of Kyne avanged their kin by Atmoran law.

Thanks Phil! I wanted to try my hand at something like a rowing song at first, but I had no luck coming up with a rhythm for it and opted instead to tell a poem-story thingy, which I think I actually like better now!

Farkas's ode is clumsy and loud

Still it brought in a decent crowd.

His tale, he told with a flaggon,

was about the Companions and a Dragon.

    Phil's poem is long

    But it's always well written.

    The way he comes across,

it leaves us all a smitten.

    SF wrote poetry,

    Words so nice.

    Spoke about Valenwood's trees.

    Once or thrice!

    Lissette spoke of a Ditty

confused the first verse, I be.

    She know's of a wolf's simple life,

Second verse explained it all to me!!

Hannibal spoke of Altmoran and Nord

Words like these one cannot get bored.

The clash of battle were the words he writ,

not once did the Sons of Kyne quit.

And so that leaves poems wrote,

who else I wonder will we quote.

Let not our bards tale end here.

Theres room for more so lets hear the cheers!!!

    Of Three Knights

On a sunny day, on a starry night,

I stand vigilant, beside his manor,

I am his blade of courage, Vosh Rakh,

for I am defender of his Honor.

Not the First, but the Third,

    a sword guarding his herd.

You hear my chant, follow my way,

I am his shielded blade, a Penitent,

shielding you from the curse's sway,

    Unity is his godly ray.

Not a priest, but a pristess,

    Shielding the powerless.

In fire, in smoke and ash,

You hear the iron and hammer clash,

Forging the blade and the shield,

for I am his Strength, for others to wield.

    Arming the Unity and Honor,

that is what I do, for I am his hammer.
