Author's Note

Since posting my character build for the Graveknight of the Divines I've been inspired to write about my own personal Graveknight, Gaspard Renelle and his ongoing quest for redemption from his Divine-cursed existence.  

The prologue is actually the same text that I used in the build itself, but future chapters will explore Gaspard's relationship with the wandering rogue Arissa, as well as his past and future.  Other characters will join the story as time goes on too.

It has been a while since I've actually written about a character in this manner.  I've posted "in-character journals" on other sites in the past, but those are relatively limited in the emotions one can express with the characters, and dialogue is non-existent.  This time I really want to explore the inner workings of Gaspard as only an actual story could.
