Darkness creeps over the mountaintops as the sun retreats into shadows; another day ends in the land of Skyrim. Dragons abound about the land but they are few and far between.  More immediate concerns trouble the holds and the outlying farms. Rumors of recent cannibalism have begun to trickle through the populace as a rash of deaths all around Skyrim have begun to occur and many bear the marks of Namira upon them. This, coupled with an increase in Dark Brotherhood contracts is troubling to the countryside.  Are these items related? Many corpses are, as of late, being found lying near rivers and lakes and the few footprints found seem to come from the watery realm itself.  Rumors abound that Namira's Darkness has been set loose on Skyrim, and possibly all of Tamriel.  Bloodletting and Cannibalism commense!

I have based this build off the Drowner monster in The Witcher III.  I have tried to utilize Skyrim perks to give some of the same skill sets in combat to our Necrophage here.

    Race: Argonian
Skin Color: Blue Preferred (Requires mod)
    Stone: Lover (then Lady)
    Shrine: Kynareth (for stamina buff)
Skill Points: 5/0/2 for first levels then 2/0/1 until 300 stamina; then all health
Primary: One Handed, Light Armor, Sneak
    Secondary (Optional): Alchemy (or) Enchanting

Mandatory Quests: Dark Brotherhood; The Taste of Death; The Black Star*
    Optional Quests: Thieves Guild

Shouts: I used Marked for Death for tougher opponents as I felt it acceptable in the role playing for this character.

I use the Argonian as the Drowners are able to breath underwater so this is a necessity.  I like the blue color, again to mimic the drowners, but this is only available in the base game (non-SE) with a mod.  I was unable to find a SE mod with the color option.

Armor: Being that we can perk noise and weight off any armor set, feel free to go in whatever direction you want with armor.  Light Armor is the most feasible at early levels but the Falmer Armor (heavy set) certainly looks imposing on the character (see the main picture) and allows the added protection of heavy armor.  This is also easily offset by the Dark Brotherhood boots with the Muffle perk.  There is no particular armor set that I coveted in this build.  The Falmer set (heavy) looks really great on this character.  So feel free to experiment to your heart's content with armor.  Just decide early and perk the correct tree.  I did find the Dark Brotherhood armor for feet (muffle) and hands (backstab double damage) to be good to carry for when the need arose; or to use until the Stealth skill is perked high enough.
Weapons: Dual wield daggers like a proper killer.  I went with Blade of Woe and Keening as my dual wield set once I acquired them both.  Until that time I took the best daggers I could find and used base enchantments for just a little extra kick after doing a base smithing improvement.  I did not have any points in either Category so I just achieved FINE status for these weapons.

    * Do the Black Star quest to receive Azura's Star for enchanting if you perk that skill (or) if you use baseline enchanting.  The Star will give you the best possible baseline damage improvement with no perk points.

Take five points in health and then two points in stamina to start off the build.  Then go to 2/0/1 until you have 300 Stamina.  For a tougher slog, limit your stamina to 200 to allow for fewer power attacks.

We are not perking too many categories with this build.  The three primary are Light Armor*, One Handed and Sneak.  Light Armor and Sneak we take all the perks while we go up the right path for One Handed; plus Fighting Stance.  Going up to Shadow Armor (Sneak) allows us to disappear during combat and reset stealth like the Witcher's Drowners.  *Substitute Heavy Armor for Light if you choose to wear that style armor in your playthrough.  If you use Heavy Armor take the left tree up to Cushioned and the right tree all the way up.

As optional secondary categories you can go into Alchemy (for poisons) or Enchanting (for weapon damage/armor perks).  Additionally, I would only select one of the two options for Role Playing purposes; leaning towards Alchemy for the poisons.   Feel free to take both is you desire.  For poisons go wild but I found Invisibility potions to be useful, plus tie in with the Drowner's ability to vanish.  You can pop these before combat and then in combat if you want.

Stealth is the hallmark of our character and we want to take advantage of the Shadows of Darkness that Namira spreads.  Fight from stealth with both daggers in hand.  Utilize shadows and your surroundings to destroy your foes.  Watch the poison drip from Namira's fangs you wield with quick strikes and when you've dispatched an enemy, partake in Namira's Bounty to provide you with her blessing.  Concoct your potions, ala the Witcher, to give you invisibility or other helpful perks to sneak into a room and slay your foes.  At higher levels, when Stealth is maxed out, if the going gets tough then stand up and drop back into stealth...disappear into the very ground and come up behind your enemy for another shot.  We are not archers but can wield a bow if needed, however they will not be a one shot weapon that many assassins rely on.  Our killing is done up close and personal where we can wallow in the gore and bile of our victims.  Then we can eat their liver with a fava bean and a nice Chianti.  It was always nice to find an escape route in the rivers and lakes; or to hide in the waterways before rising up like death incarnate to surprise our target.

    Ragin! Ragin! Ragin! Ragin!

It's good to see a build from you again John, it's really been too long. I like how short and sweet this one is, no filler just a cool combat style and a fun little character to play around with. I love the imagery of the build, the idea of lying in wait and then jumping out of a pool of water to get the kill, seems kinda fun. There are a few little things I'd like to recommend. One is just editing the images so the text has a border around it, maybe black? Not sure but it needs something to make it stand out a bit more IMO.

Actually that's kinda it, just like the build, it's fun and Witcher inspired which is really all I can ask for :D

Always hated these bastards in Witcher 3, I never took them seriously so when there were enough of them I'd just get swarmed. Very faithful representation of them, I really like it mate.
