    The Peasant

This is my first build, and I don't know what I'm doing, but I have noticed there is no regular peasant build on here (there IS a citizen build, but really, it's more of a citizen roleplay suggestion. If you have suggestions or a problem with my build or some other third thingy, comment it, don't bottle it up like your other repressed feelings.

Race: You can use any; I picked it by process of elimination. No sane legionary would suspect a non-human of being in league with the Stormcloaks (or rather, the Stormcloaks with a non-human), and your character knows a whopping two spells from the get-go which would be A DISGRACE FOR A TRUE NORD *RAGNAR THE RED STARTS PLAYING*, so that leaves us with either Redguard, Imperial or Breton. Either works, but I have decided to make up a backstory for all three just in case.

Standing stone: You don't get to change the month you are born, and as such, you don't get to change your birthsign. Basically, choose any, but since I'm the buildboi and I'm supposed to know best, I'd reccomend Atronach, because it's kind of fun to be immune to half of all magic just because you are such a Piscis.

Gear: Clothes, all day, everyday. Of course you start with your crappy prisoner rags (say, why were the professional soldiers allowed to keep their armor while you were forced to strip and put on some scratchy sackcloth?), but over time you buy better and better clothes; make your own style. Wear whatever jewelry you fancy, but be advised that really fancy stuff with gold and diamonds might attract unwanted visitors, and also that wearing a Talos amulet is very hazardous to your health in some places. About weapons, of course you must carry a trusty woodaxe and pickaxe (that you MUST purchase, because stealing those is just rude), but many rich city folks carry around steel daggers for style and self-defence. Hunting is teeechnically outlawed by the feudal legal system, so no bows. Btw, racial abilities, standing stone powers and Healing (not Flames, because what kind of monster sets somebody on fire, or Summon Familiar if Breton, because good doggo pet doggo) are fully allowed, because you already had them and I say so.

Quests: Main quest until Bleak Falls Barrow (telling the jarl about a SKY MURDER LIZARD so you can help discount Thor who saved you from choppy-chop the head-axener? Sure. Facing off a bunch of discount white walkers so you can get, what, a black tourism map? NOPE NOPE NOPE) and basically any quest that isn't extremely murdery. Since you aren't Dragonborn, you won't be doing the already mentioned, and the Dawnguard can take care of themselves, thank you very much.

Followers: Would YOU ask that guy you helped move house once to help you fight off a giant wolf person? Nope. Mercenaries, all the way. First, you'll have to save up. Figure out how by yourself, I'm not a cash wizard. You may switch mercs at your earliest convenience, and choose any, but I'd recommend meelee kind of guys (so, Jenassa until you can afford better because she's a creepy bih, then either Vorstag or Stenvar).

Roleplay: Have NONE OF THAT. Somebody wants you to clear out a bandit camp, trigger-happy wizard lair, or a Chuck-E Cheese? ELBOW BLOCK. Just ride around mining, helping at farms, not stabbing anybody, clean fun.

Skills: This build uses very few skills. Firstly, you will definitely dongleknock them wolves in the back with your awesome dagger while your mercenary of choice distracts them, so One Handed will come in handy (Recommended: Armsman x5, Fighting Stance and Critcal charge, and Optional: Hack and Slash x3, Dual flurry x2 and Dual Savagery).

Next, you may be thinking "Okay, so as a peasant, I can craft stuff, right?" WRONG. Firstly, not everyone has talent to build crap; secondly, the only way to get your own labs or forges is to get a house, which requires a bunch of slapping. Sure, you can use OTHER people's tools, but have you ever walked into a bar and asked the owner to let you use THE KITCHEN? DIDN'T THINK SO. However, there are many cooking spits around campsites and such that seem fair game, which is why we will be leveling up cooking. Now, you have Healing, so health isn't an issue; really, you can make recipes and do the whole "eating and sleeping at assorted times for arr peeing", but I'm lazy, so I won't. Vegetable soup is useful AND yummy though.

That "small" detail covered, you can buy and sell your random garbage, which means Speech. Haggling x5 and Allure because you are a SEXY MAN OR WOMAN OR BINARY YOUR CHOICE, nothing else because turns out Speech is very crime-y.

Finally, you have access to the one healing spell for combat, which means Restoration. Novice, Dual Casting, Regeneration, Recovery x2, Respite, Avoid Death, this skill is kinda OP.

Backstory: Redguard: You are a gentle, calm, don't-want-troubletake-my-wallet soul, so at a young (shut up) age you decided to move from Hammerfell because of the warring going on. You went to Skyrim because you are stupid or something, got a job as a miner, got kicked in the ribs by life itself and now you are being carted off for the second worst case of giving head of your life.

Breton: You have always been shy, which made it hard to connect with people. So, you got a puppy. Yay puppies! Sadly, this was a ghostly murder-puppy from the nether dimension, but it's still soft to pet. Anyways, seeking companionship, and having heard stories about the Nord mead halls filled with friendlies, you moved to Skyrim. It didn't end well.

Imperial: You are greedier than the guy who shot Han first, so you moved to Skyrim because war means business. Well look at you, your first day here and already on the business end of a battle axe, good job!

Stats: Very little magick, so I'd say 50/50 health and stamina.

Tl;dr Nondrick the Non-Adventurer with SASS.

Actually, stereotyping aside, the Nords DO have a deep history of magic

They do, but that aspect is currently only observed by the Skaal. Sure, you can RP as a Skaal if you want, but that's a lot more work and mainland Nords are mage-bashing crybabies.

Eh, fair point. Granted, Onmund does give some reason why

Ah hmmm. Well welcome to the group Tirrene and it's pretty cool that you've stepped forward and posted a build. But I'm not entirely sure how to react to it, because there's a part of me that wants to encourage the more personal twist, but I think there has to be a bit of a balance between that and just making the build helpful for readers or people just getting into the game. I always say, build like your expecting someone to play your build, and there are elements of this build that just don't hit that mark.

I'll skip over some of the things I'd personally change and stick to things that I'd definitely recommend for any build. So, one thing that I think you really need to do is just move the perks all into a single section rather than breaking, because man it's a little difficult to figure out exactly what perks you're recommending, especially if I were to play this build and just needed to drop in and check the perks. To a certain extent, I'd also recommend trying to narrow down a list of 'Required Perks'. You can still recommend the possibility of others, but at least a core of 'Required Perks'. Anyway setting it out similar to this is just really useful.

    -----------------------------------

One-Handed: Armsman 5/5, Hack and Slash 3/3, Fighting Stance and Critical Charge

    Speech: Haggling 5/5 and Allure

Restoration: Novice Restoration, Dual Casting, Regeneration, Recovery and Avoid Death

    -----------------------------------

Look, I really love the idea of the build, going with the idea of a peasent sort of character is just a really interesting idea. But yeah, I'd really recommend taking a look at some other builds, specifically checking out the SE Rank: Master builds (or even the Adept/Apprentice builds) to get a bit of a better idea on presentation and content. I don't want to discourage your own twists for the build, but yeah, just some things I think you could take from other builds.

I wanted to give it my personal touch, but I can see how I might have gone overboard a bit. I will do a couple of changes based off your and Chris' suggestions as soon as I have the time to devote to it.
