Thanks for the suggestions there Phil, Soly. I've added the tip in as well as that bit about picture borders. But man this is starting to get a bit long...might need to think about breaking each section up into sub-sections soon :)

I would say that a lot of people (like me) struggle with how they want there builds to be formatted and layed out. I suppose this is sorta an addition to Phil and Soly, but I think it's important to find a presentation style.

Took the liberty of going through some of the builds on the site that have different formats that work quite well (imo). Feel free to delete this if it doesn't really pertain that well Deebs. Anyways:

    • The Elder One by Oddball is more of a center-style picture build using white picture backgrounds to 'blend' into the page removing hard edges, but still standing out. A great style for Beginners!
    • KingSlayer by Mason presents in both center and side pictures. Mostly builders will use small pictures for the 'special abilities' or 'alchemy' sections. As shown here. Another interesting way to present a build.
    • Finally I chanced upon the Stormlord by TED which uses pictures with small borders to make the main pictures 'pop,' while the side images break up longer paragraphs of text.

Also using a quick contrast or brightness adjustment in a picture with Photoshop/Powerpoint can produce something that'll stand out a bit more. Artistic Effects can also give you a more intune look for your build. Hope this helps!

Nah, that's a really useful point Flamez, it's all well and good to understand how to format but having an understanding on...the way that you want to format your build is just as important. Had a look at all three and those are definitely good choices for some simpler (even if that feels a bit like an insult to Mason's art) way to present a build.

Thanks for the tip Flamez :D

The most important tip of all: Don't be shy. If somebody doesn't like your build, that's fine; I'm sure everyone here has a build that they know is garbage but erasing it would just call attention to how garbage it was so they have to leave it in their page forever. Point is, if you like the build or you use it a lot or you simply like the concept, go for it.

I think there's some solid advice there, sticking with something you've done can be tough at times (I've deleted my fair share of my own builds) but at the end of the day, building is about doing it in a way you enjoy, if others like it, that's cool and all but you don't have to do anything to change your build if your happy with it.

Well okay, that's a teeny lie cause you do need to include your perks, but other than that technically you don't have to change anything.
