Yeah, the problem with Staves is that you aren't going to get many good ones early on. I mean, there's the Atronach Staves, but those can be rather difficult to get at low levels, finding all the Salts and Gems isn't always going to be easy, uh, you don't really have many offensive staves unless you randomly come across them, buy them (and again, your stuck at that lower level where you make less money, even with Enchanting) or use the Staff Enchanted, which just isn't feasible for a Level...14 build, might not even be possible since I think some of the quests are locked.
That was my first thought, especially with the Paralyze Staff being so easy to grab, and then a few others being relatively easy, but then I realized that a lot of options are either harder or impossible with the low levelled character, who won't be super rich at any point... But good thinking Mer, would really work perfectly if I weren't restricting myself, I'd love to run an Illusion + Enchanting + Speech build one day that would follow a relatively similar path

Actually, I've gone back and double-checked and I was a bit off there Mercurias. I should be able to realistically grab at least a Fire Atronach or Frost Atronach Staff without too much trouble, though the Storm Atronach might have to wait until the end of the CoW. So it's not entirely impossible to run a Staff-Focused build, just I would lack a bit of offence.
'Specially since I've decided that if I ran it with Staves, I'd cut out every other skill. There would be no buying/selling, no weapons to smack things with, not early game spells/weapons and so on. So it would be a true challenge run with only Staves + Followers. But man, Summermyst is looking really good as well. No, alright got a plan for this.
I'm going to run this one Pure, no heavy mods so I'll take the Staff + Followers idea to the max. Then once I'm done with my...portion of the series (whatever Liss isn't doing, so at the moment Alchemy, Enchanting, Conjuration, Block and I think One-Handed at the very least) I'll come back and ORDINATOR this shit up. :D

Do you guys get into that thinking like a builder algorithm, or are you able to pick up the game and play without browsing for art or thinking about page layout?
I ask because the last build I was working on was for a Modder's Log, focussing on recreating Allena Benoch from Words and Philosophy. I think I get distracted easily be new mods, especially outfits... think it might have been Dunmer House Robes that threw me off track back then. Or was it Vittoria Vici's Secret Collection? One of those, perhaps. Probably the latter.
Anyway, in terms of approach, is it best to go in with that building algorithm or let the game and where it takes you dictate the end result? Or maybe neither, that there's no right or wrong way?

Hmm, personally for me, I start builds off nowadays by planning off my mods, and that's really about it. Well usually, if I'm going with something that's going to need a little bit of planning because it focuses on gameplay, by that I mean something that's completely different to anything that can be done in Vanilla. Then I might need to plan out some perks early on, and tend to plan...
Well okay, so I think I'm sort of halfway between needing to fully plan everything at the start if it's heavily modded and just sort of going with the flow. With Vanilla builds I really don't need to plan anything other than the skills and general idea.

Yeah, I'm working on Urag, of course, but his playtest is done.
So I've been working on another Pure build, the Two-hander.
Radical, really looking forward to the Pure Two-Hander, anything that uses Two-Handed is great, but there are some really fun weapons there that I'm kind of hoping you run :D That and the horseback thing is awesome too
