Hi guys, I'm looking for a build that would combine 2h weapon usage, magic, and some fun roleplay. I'm thinking greatsword wielding, atronach summoning mage-knight or something. Race is not that important, I prefer non-smithing builds, I'm also not really into evil characters. Most importantly I hope it to be a lasting build, not to get bored after few levels. Thanks in advance!

Hmm, are you playing with Mods Mpola (on PC/Xbox to be specific). If you wanted to try Ordinator I couldn't recommend The Moth Priestess by Paws enough. If not, then I'd probably recommend Dibella's Beautiful Blade by ShinJin. Those are probably two of my favourite Greatsword/Magic using builds, though neither fits the idea of the Conjuring so I'll keep looking if that's something your deadset on.

I'd definitely still give the two a read (drop a comment/like if you wanted) because they're really good builds regardless. But yeah, will keep looking if those don't fit well :)

Thanks for the recommendations Dragonborn! I'm not really into huge gamechanging mods, so Dibella's Beautiful Blade would be something for me. I would need to play around with the concept, since the unarmored run would make all the juicy treasure hunting less important. Maybe light armor? All of the builds seem awesome though.

If you have something else, I would gladly take a look. But thanks for the help anyway :)

    Hello everyone!

After taking a bit of a hiatus from Skyrim I am finally getting back into playing it. I am playing Skyrim on my PS4 and so I know my options are limited to mods but I honestly rarely use mods as I like to get my achievements, I'm a bit of a completionist xD.

That being said I am looking for a unique archer build, one that ties in magic, archery and two-handed skills; possibly some type of ranger build. This may seem like an odd request but I was looking at their creation store and liked the look of the Chrysamere sword and the Arcane Archer pack they had and was trying to develop a build around those. Armor doesn't matter as far as specifics. I'm comfortable wearing a mix of gears that give me a decent cosplay look to go with my playstyle.

I've looked through several different builds in the archives but from what I could see nothing fit what I was looking for but I could have overlooked something. Alignment matters not to me could be good or evil character. I don't really want a stealth aspect to the build because whenever I play an archer I always end up going some sort of stealth assassin/archer hybrid and I want to steer clear of that type of playstyle this time around.

Keeping in theme with what I mentioned above with sword and arrow pack in the creation club, I would like to mix in some magic into my playstyle but not sure what would fit. I was picturing the ranger being one who doesn't mind getting into knock-down all out fight but at the same time is one who could talk his way out of a situation if things don't look to go his way if he tries brute force.

I hope this helps to paint a clear picture of what I'm looking for. Even if it isn't an exact match to what I want but rather could help me to creating that playstyle, anything at this point is welcomed and I thank everyone in advance!

Hmm, that's a tricky one Ronald, I mean off the top of my head I struggle to think of a build that combines Spells, Archery and Two-Handed weapons because that's a lot of switching around, that can get a little fiddly. I think that your best bet would be to either use Conjuration (where you can summon your allies before the fight) or self-buffing spells like Alteration and Cloaks and just sort of aim to skip over spells that are better if you're casting them a fair bit in combat. So things like Flames, Firebolt, really all of the Destruction, Illusion or Restoration spells now that I think about it.

Basically, focusing on spells that are useful in close quarters means both main modes (Archery and Two-Handed) are going to benefit you, and you can really make use of those Arcane Arrows, so maybe something like this would work out.

Alteration, Archery, Destruction, Heavy Armour and Two-Handed (focusing on Cloaks and Flesh Spells for magic)

I suppose you could also try a Calm + Courage focused Illusion Build that focuses on calming the entire field, buffing up a follower (or two) and then picking off enemies one by one. So you know...

Archery, Two-Handed and Illusion (maybe mix in Block to benefit a bit defensively).

Can't really think of anything else that would really work without just flooding your favourites screen, and that's especially hard to manage on console. PC you've got 10 slots so it isn't as big a deal, but for us, consolers, just can't swap easily enough IMO (makes combat a bit slow).

Hmm now that I look at what I wrote and think about what I am wanting to do that would be a lot especially on the console. Well a thought came to mind when I saw your comment before Dragonborn1921 but wasn't able to respond earlier at work but it did get me thinking...what if alter the magic idea to where instead of him being able to cast magic he instead is unable to cast magic through normal means and must use the arrows as source of magic. I've got a backstory in mind for this type of character but my mind goes blank as I try to decide on what would be decent core skills to go after with him. Different ideas I've written down or made in a calulator online has him looking like either a glorified gladiator or an archer with a fetish for two-handed weapons which neither is really what I am wanting lol.

Fair enough, part of the fun (for me at least) when a building is thinking about how to twist ideas on their head and try out new things with builds. Things like taking a Bow and using it as a melee weapon by relying on Bow Bashing, or a series that a few of us have been working on where we try and take a skill, use every perk for that skill and nothing else (or no other skills/perks). So, if you have an idea for blending this stuff together, definitely try and work on it :D

That said, I do kinda like your idea for the Arcane Archery there, feels like something that very naturally would blend well with Enchanting as well. Plus I'd imagine there are some pretty interesting combinations that could be used (things like being able to combine Stamina Damaging effects with Frost AoE Arrows), I haven't personally used (or even looked at) the actual pack, but I used to play around with the same concept with mods back when I could (barely) play on PC. So something like... Enchanting, Archery, Two-Handed and Light Armour? That could work I suppose, you're really only swapping between the Bow and Sword/Hammer/Axe, and there's a certain limit to how powerful you could otherwise be in close combat? Could also take Alchemy and focus on Poisons if you wanted to, that's essentially giving three different effects to your attacks.

Would be pretty powerful overall though, but pretty damn fun and interesting I'd bet.

    Hey everyone!

I've recently gotten back into Skyrim(PS4 Special Edition) these past few months and I've gone through a couple of builds that I have already done once or twice, like No snakes aLive's Demon Hunter and Mason's Heretic and Obsidian Sentinal builds. While I enjoy those playthroughs, I do feel like I should give out a fairly new playstyle.

I was just wondering if anyone knew a good two-handed build that they would like to recommend. I've usually been a sword and board or spell caster type of build so I felt like I should do have some variation on how I play. I would also prefer limited to no alchemy in the build, if possible. I enjoy it, but the act of discovering each alchemy ingredient and their effects gets annoying around the fourth consecutive playthrough. Though I won't say no to a good build if it seems interesting enough, alchemy or not.  No quams against smithing or enchantning, however.

The armor type doesn't really matter, light or heavy. No preference on magic usage, whether it be stuff like flesh spells or cloaks. The only thing of note I would like to bring up is that I enjoy RP heavy builds, where my character has a specific set of goals and reasons for why they act. I don't really enjoy the builds where you just are given the skills and told to play however.

Thanks in advance! I hope this gives you a fair idea about what I would enjoy.

Two builds for you. Both can be played modded or vanilla. Bothe are two-handed, both have heavy rp. One is my Outsider. An Altmer warrior based off the First era Harbinger Henantier the Outsider. He goes to level 51. The other is my Winter Bear. It is a single skill build that goes to level 20 or so. If you search the tag Long-Chapper Build, both should come up. Enjoy.

Those are pretty much two of the best builds to check out, only other non-modded build that I can think of off the top of my head is Dibella's Beautiful Blade by ShinJin, very different to the two of them because it's a bit more of a Spellblade/Battlemage/Spellsword oriented character. Could think of a couple more honestly, but those are probably three of the best :)
