I'm trying out this build and having a blast with it so far, though I'll admit that it's a little difficult finding staves. I was just wondering at what point do you think it's enough to stop putting points into stamina and start focusing solely on health? 200 base? 300 base?

200 Stamina is plenty, even if you reach that through an enchantment. You can always put more in later if you feel like you need it, or once you get Extra Effect get more enchants for it.

As for staves I found plenty in mage dungeons and forts, just remember to search all the corpses - even novice mages quite frequently possess basic staves like the Familiar ones. And don't be afraid to buy some from Court Wizards with all your money - just make sure it's after you get the Haggling perk.

is there any specific followers you like for a bard or do you prefer to go solo?

I really love this :) you think a Khajiit would be a good Barb?

I tend to prefer to play solo, although if you like to use followers a tanky defensive one would probably be best - you're rather fragile so it's best to have them absorb damage.

Any race would work, this build isn't at all dependent on racial powers/skill bonuses or anything like that.

so probably an essential follower so they cant die and take most of the damage?

So was it deliberate that you named her after Sharwyn, the bard from Neverwinter Nights?  If so, nice touch.
