    Valkyrie

The Valkyrie i'm going to talk about is the later Valkyrie that came about between the 3rd and 11th centuries in Norse mythology. Valkyries were demigoddesses of death. They were beautiful, blonde haired, blue-eyed, maidens of the sword. Valkyr comes from the Norse meaning "Maiden of the Father" and later known as "Choosers of the Slain." Valkyries were strong foster daughters of Odin that went to a battlefield after a battle and revived the strongest, bravest men to re-live as einherjars (Chosen Warriors of Odin) in Odin's Great Hall. Valkyries were also messengers of Odin, they would often relay messages on their legendary white horses or fly through midnight skies with their majestic angel wings. A Valkyrie is the essence of purity, fertility, and beauty. However, they have also been depicted as fierce warmaidens who will slay unworthy soldiers.

        Major Skills

One-Handed: A traditional Valkyrie would usually use a spear, however since there are no spears in Skyrim we will go with their secondary weapon of choice--the sword.

Block: Valkyries have also been depicted to wield a strong shield along with their weapon.

Heavy Armor: Now this one took me awhile to decide on. I was not sure whether to go heavy or light. They tend to wear heavier armor on top but very light lower so they can move quick and agile. However since torso parts and leg parts are not separate I decided Heavy Armor would work best because it blocks more damage and also for the female characters the lower part of armor usually is a long skirt or kilt.

    Minor Skills

Restoration: Really all melee classes need restoration in my opinion and I think switching your blade for a quick healing spell would still fit a Valkyrie in the roleplaying aspects.

Speech: Valkyries are very beautiful and alluring and speech allows them to further their allure.

Conjuration: Now this skill will be used to raise the dead but not in a necromatic sort of style. They raise the strongest, bravest men they find so they may fight again in the Great Hall of Odin.

Smithing: Valkyries need to make their own armor to show they are worthy of their position.

Enchanting: Valkyries imbue their weapons and armors with strong magical effects.

    Race

Nord: This choice was painfully obvious as the Nords are the closest to be Norse. Really wouldn't use any other race at all for this one.

    Standing Stones

Atronach Stone: You will be using magic with this character but not a whole lot so the +50 magicka helps so you don't need to spend points into magicka. Also you get a nice 50% spell absorption and since you won't be continually casting the -50% magicka regen is even less of a problem.

The Lady Stone: The Lady Stone basically just helps with survival with it's 25% health and stamina regen rate boosts.

The Lord Stone: Who doesn't love an extra 50 armor rating and 25% resistance to magic makes that even better.

The Lover Stone: Try to get this one early, helps with leveling both your combat and magic based skills.

Warrior Stone: Can get this right away to start leveling combat skills.

Mage Stone: Can get this right away to start leveling magic skills.

    Stat Spread

For this character I would do a 2:1 ratio of Health:Stamina. You're gonna be in the front lines of the battle a lot so health is needed. The stamina is for running, power attacks, and bashing. Feel free to do a 2:2 Health:Stamina if you want more power attacks and bashes. For magicka I wouldn't put too many points into that and probably none with the Atronach Stone. The casting part of this character is used very little so magicka isn't a big deal. Stop magicka at 150.

    Perks

    http://skyrimcalculator.com/#115442

One-Handed: This will be your offensive skill tree. Go get Armsman (5/5), Bladesman (3/3), Fighting Stance, Critical Charge, Savage Strike, and Paralyzing Strike.

Heavy Armor: Heavy Armor is the first of your defensive skills. Grab Juggernaut (5/5), well fitted, and then the left side.

Block: This is your other defensive skill. Get Shield Wall (5/5), and then everything else. The (5/5) is because you have extra perks. If you want you can put just 1 point and move 4 points elsewhere.

Restoration: Heals you in and out of battles. Get Novice-Master restoration, respite, regeneration, necromage, recover (2/2), and avoid death.

Conjuration: Used to raise brave soldiers to become Odin's einherjars. Get Novice-Master Conjuration, summoner (2/2),  necromancy, dark souls, twin souls.

Speech: Roleplaying skill. Uses your last perks up nicely. Go ahead and get 'em all.

Smithing: In this build I think the steel plate armor looks really good on this character. So go up the left side until the advanced armors perk and get arcane enchanter.

Enchanting: Valkyries craft their own blades imbued with magical effects. For this one get enchanter (5/5), insightful enchanter, corpus enchanter, and extra effect.

    Gear

For a Valkyrie they wear a sort of mix between heavy and light armor. So I thought that steel plate both looked perfect and played the role of a defender perfectly. For weapons, pick up whatever weapon you find. This works out perfectly because it makes smithing mostly for defense and enchanting mostly for offense so we don't get too overpowered. Also, instead of a helmet wear a circlet. They look much nicer and are better for roleplaying.

    Traditional Valkyrie Names

Brynhildr ("Byrnie of Battle" or "Mail-coat of Battle") Sigrdrifa ("Victory Blizzard") Sigrún ("Victory Rune") Sváva Kára Hrist ("The Shaker") Mist ("The Mist" or "The Fog") Skeggjöld ("Wearing a War Axe") Skögul ("Battle" or "Rager") Hildr ("Battle") Þrúðr ("Power") Hlökk ("Noise", "Din of Battle") Herfjötur ("War-Fetter") Göll ("Loud Cry", "Battle Cry") Geirahöd ("Spear of Battle") Randgríðr ("Shield of Peace") Ráðgri'ðr ("Counsel of Peace" or "Gods' Peace") Reginleif ("Heritage of the Gods") Gunnr ("Battle") Róta ("She Who Causes Turmoil") Skuld ("She Who Is Becoming") Göndul ("Magic Wand" or "Enchanted Stave" or perhaps, "She-Were-Wolf") Friagabi ("Giver of Freedom")

If you want to roleplay as a certain Valkyrie. Meaning not some random Valkyrie but a very famous one, you could play as Freyja. Freyja was the chief of Valkyries and was called the Mistress of the Slain. She was the strongest Valkyrie and usually referred to as the most beautiful.

"It is often said that if you see a Valkyrie before a battle, you will surely die in that battle"

That's it for this one! Please comment, like, and enjoy.

    A very very nice build!

Really great loring and perfect presentation! Good explanations on the standing stones, not seen anyone go into that depth before. Cheeky end touch with the name suggestions, i also liked the inclusion of the speech skill, few people are brave enough to include it in a character build.

I think the last image is the only thing i'd change, but thats being really picky!

    Great job!

All images have been restored for this build. While I try my best to keep the formatting as close to the original as possible, there are some unavoidable differences as a result of differing platforms... for this I apologize.

Also, please feel free to remove the 'Restored' banner at the end of the build--I put it there as a courtesy to let the reader know that the build has been worked on by somebody other than its original creator without his or her knowlege.
