This is my very first build on the Tamriel Vault, so I hope you like it and I'm open to suggestions ! Enjoy.

    The Argonian Zealot

Backstory: Since their civilization has been discovered, the Argonians have been used as slaves by their northern neighbours, the Dunmer. Across the ages, theses reptiles have waged wars against them to seek vengeance for their past enslavement. Most Argonians still keep a small grudge against the dark elves, but none as much as The Argonian Zealots. This ancient and secret group was formed by some of the most vindictive, punishing and combat-gifted Argonians to ensure that the Dunmer pay a price for their actions. The Zealots feel very strongly about their native way of life and believe it is threatened by the elves. To seek vengeance for the enslavement of his family, a young and reckless Argonian hunter finds no better way to use his wrath than joining The Argonian Zealots.

The recruit was sent off all the way to Skyrim to intercept a Dunmer trading caravan heading towards Orsinium. A few arrows is all it would've taken to kill those elves, but the Imperials were quicker, mistaking the Zealot for a Stormcloak spy.

*This build requires the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLCs.

    The Build

Race: Argonian, of course. Personally, I really like the Histskin ability because it can help out in a tight situation. They also make great assassin characters due to their stealth skill bonuses.

Stats: 0/1/3 until you have 250 Health, then put all your points in stamina.

Stone: Pick the Thief stone at the beginning of the game to get your skills up a little, then get the Lady Stone, which helps regenerate Health and Stamina faster

Shouts: Disarm, Marked for Death, Whirlwind Sprint, Unrelenting Force, Slow Time, Throw Voice, Dismay

    Major Skills:

    • Archery: The Zealot's main way of dealing damage. With perks like Critical Shot, Quickshot and Power Shot, enemies will have a hard time getting to you because of the hail of arrows crippling them.
    • Sneak: The perfect way to get the drop on your opponents and a useful way not to get caught slaughtering Dark Elves.
    • One-Handed: If your attackers get close enough, a bow won't work. Here comes the sword, the Zealot's second weapon.
    • Block: Since you'll be wearing light armor, which doesn't give much protection, blocking is a perfect way to counter some of the damage you receive.

    Minor Skills:

    • Light Armor: Wearing light armor doesn't offer much protection, but helps remaining undetected while sneaking.
    • Smithing: You can use smithing to slightly upgrade your gear and to craft arrows (arrows can be crafted with the Dawnguard DLC).

    Equipement:

    Armor:

    • Unenchanted Mage Hood (Fortify Archery)
    • Stormcloak Officer Bracers (Fortify One-Handed)
    • Grey Light Dawnguard Armor (Fortify Stamina Regen)
    • Stormcloak Officer Boots (Fortify Stamina)

    Accessories:

    • Necklace (Fortify Archery)
    • Ring (Fortify Sneak)

    Weapons:

    • Nordic Bow (Paralyze)
    • Nightingale Blade

The unenchanted Mage Hood can be pretty tricky to find. It can be found on thieves in the wild, but it's also apparently sold by Colette Marence at the College of Winterhold. On another side, I think the Dawnguard Armor and the Stormcloak Officer Bracers and Boots match really well together. As a Dawnguard Armor can only be obtained at level 10, I recommend starting off with a simple enchanted studded armor. The fortify stamina/stamina regen enchantments can really help to land more power attacks and using more shield bashes.

Pick whatever necklace and ring you want and enchant them. For weapons, a Nordic bow can be hard to come by early in the game. Therefore, I recommend using a Dwarven bow with Paralyze or even Zephyr, which fires 30% faster. I think the Nordic bow looks really cool and adding a Paralyze enchantement helps incapacitating enemies. Using the Nightingale Blade is really useful in a close combat situation to absorb health and stamina.

    Gameplay

The Zealot is a brilliant fighter. He can easily adapt to any situation. You'll start with your bow and sneak attacks. With your Paralyze enchantment, some enemies should be stopped, which allows you to take care of the others. When enemies get close, pull out your Nightingale Blade. Slashing and blocking will tear a path in your enemies. Using shouts like Dismay and Disarm can help during combat. Dismay separates enemies and Disarm stops a strong opponent from dealing damage. It's important to unlock all three words for these shouts, as they are level based. With only one or two words, it won't affect enemies that are too strong. Special moves will go in greater details on combat techniques.

Some skills used in this build are going to require some training. Paying trainers is fine, but I recommend using other methods, as leveling will be much quicker. I don't recommend using followers, as Zealots are relatively solitary people. Hirelings can also ruin a sneak attack, as some of them might attack enemies on sight.

    Special Moves

    • Blood Emblem: (Marked for Death + Quick Shot) Masters of stealth, Zealots can sap the life force from their adversaries to weaken them and make them easier to kill. Then, striking them with arrows is like throwing rocks at butter.
    • Instant Healing: (Hitskin + Lady Stone + Shield Wall) Argonian Zealots can use their inborn power to heal their wounds very quickly. When overwhelmed by swords and spells, Zealots can regenerate health at a blinding speed while blocking incoming attacks.
    • Six Thousand Cuts: (Slow Time + Nightingale Blade + Bladesman) Your opponents are like snails compared to the Zealot's speed. Using the Slow Time shout, enemies only see a flash of light before being sliced by blades hitting them left and right and going through their armor's weak points.
    • Disarming Call: (Disarm + Paralyze (enchantment) + Critical Shot) Enemies have their weapons ripped out of their hands and get hit by a darting blow that sticks them to the ground. Like tied up ragdolls, all they can do is try to survive the incoming hail of arrows.

    Roleplay

As a Zealot, the most important thing to you is to make the Dark elves feel the price of their actions. Don't act friendly towards them. Zealots always find ways to make the Dunmer die in the name of the Argonian race. Use the Dragonborn DLC only to obtain better weapons and equipement. As I said in the Gameplay section, refrain from hiring followers and mercenaries to be able to accomplish your whims. Don't get married and don't hunt for treasures. Live with little and use Breezehome as a house. Try to travel by horse instead of fast travelling and stay at inns in towns you visit. Use Shadowmere as a mount. Try not to make many friends as you must hide your identity and true ideals. You can associate with guilds such as the Thieves Guild or the Dark Brotherhood, but try to keep away from the Companions. You'll have to join the College though to get the last word for Slow Time in the Labyrinthian. You can steal if you want. Refrain form joining a side in the civil war, it's not your fight.

Important quests: Dawnguard, Dragonborn, College of Winterhold (Just for Slow Time), Thieves Guild, The Book of Love (A nice bonus to magic defense), Main questline, Dark Brotherhood, Other quests you like.

I hope you like this build, as I said it's my first, so feel free to leave suggestions in the commments !

    Nice first build

Nice build especially for your first. I noticed ning left a bunch of excess white space on the bottom of your build. I took the liberty of fixing that for you.

Also another thing. I see your class tags arent exactly typed in correctly, but you have 4 class where as our rules only allow for 3. Decide between which of the 4 (assassin, archer, pilgrim, enchanter) and I can change i for you.

Like the others said, it's really good for a first build and I like the balance between lore/roleplay/headcanon and the actual gameplay of it. Most first builds really focus on one aspect or the other but you managed to include both to a very reasonable degree. Well done!

I'm not a huge fan of Argonians, but that is some sweet art you found there... somewhere.

Solid first build! You're off to a great start. Double props for giving us an Argonian.
