                             Character Build: The Divided Oracle

"They walk among us, The Cursed, Walking among many of Time's dark hallways, What could of been , Divided but one"

"In his greater days he was a man beyond the limits of power, he grew his skills harnessing time itself, many grew jealous of the power he held and each time they tried to kill him, they died trying, this man saw every possible destiny... but his own..... his timelines split dividing this once whole being and fragmenting him across time itself"

The key focus of this build is the aspect of Adaptability through time, the way this is done is to use functions of the game menu itself to have effect on The Divided Oracle's game-play, by use of the ability to run several characters simultaneously i have made a build which stretches across multiple save files in a combined role functioning as one build, and through the oracles time altering arts he has developed a meditation technique which allows him to take on these other aspects of himself from across the timelines to use for his own scouting purposes.

The point of this build is knowing whats to come through a inborn "Gift" or.. "Curse" given by the chief deity of time himself Akatosh. So to suit the Oracle kind of Game-play i have developed a build out of my own idea's of Game-play which i have decided to produce a key mechanic towards The Divided Oracle.

The focus on the build is to create a centered character whom shall be the pivotal figure between the aspects of himself.

"They speak of a man so powerful none could stand his might, they say Akatosh himself had to put a stop to this.... Monster, and in a moment of this hero's weakness he vanished......"

As we delve into the build itself i will give a brief explaination of the main mechanic of the build, The aim is to have the main oracle and his "Sights" into possible other futures to see whats ahead, here we use an idea of scouting ahead with other profiles in the form of his other worldly "Sights" to scout out a possible dungeon or ruin and preparing himself based on what he has seen through his other aspect.

The function which makes this oracle divided is that his sights are aspects of himself all adding up to that original whole that existed before he got split, so this main oracle has the ability to see into other time streams and take control over his aspects life to use them for his own purpose.

Race:  To keep in mind of this builds adaptability and the magical nature of this build i decided i had to pick the Altmer due to their initial boosts to illusion and enchanting so that the Oracle is always prepared and in control of his the battle-field.

Stats: 2 Magicka, 2 Health, 1 Stamina, These stats were a issue to pick for me as i  have founded this class on its survivability within the battleground, i wish this build not only to control the battlefield but to be able to stand great blows and not be a classic "Glass Cannon" so i have chosen enough magicka to rend havoc on foes and to keep you endlessly endowed with might so that dragons themselves would be jealous of but also enough health to not be eaten alive by death-lords and other nasty's  in the early levels.

    Skills:

    Illusion (Major)

-Apprentice illusion-  Within this skill tree i advise you to first of all take the perks to reduce magicka cost so go straight to Apprentice illusion to reduce those early game high magicka frenzy costs and later on we can develop this and possibly raise it to Adept illusion or even expert to further reduce these costs.

-Animage-  To broaden the effects to other combat situations in which animals can become a problem  (don't you hate it when you jump into a nest of frostbite spiders and your spells become useless) we can put a point into this perk for the ability to combat these monsters

-Hypnotic gaze/Aspect of Terror/Rage- These should be taken next into consideration as they help The Divided Oracle in its crowd control, turning once great allies into pure enemys, giving you the time to exploit their weaknesses as a true Oracle would.

-Note on Illusion- Of course i see illusion as a main feature of this build to help me in the cause of the builds survivability in controlling the battlefield and making sure that those pesky foes never know what hit them using skills such as frenzy to cause havoc (literally all they are doing is having a nice cup of tea the BANG their friends they have know since they were six are swinging their axes at their heads and all you have to do is mop up..... or wait for the garbage men :D).

    -Enchanting (Major)

-Enchanter- we need to start this tree with putting as many points as possible into the Enchanter perk, this will allow the future enchantments we put upon our equipment to become increasingly powerful and stronger, id recommend 5/5 perks for this.

-Insightful Enchanter-  In this we can adapt our Armour for the best Defense against the type of enemy we'd fight, so if we have forseen a frost mage we'd bring along your frost resistant Armour.

-Fire/Frost/Storm Enchanter-  these can be picked up to give bonus damage to your elemental weapons, producing more powerful offensive enchantments to bind onto your weapons, so if we see a mage in the fort up ahead we'd have a lightning sword to take to the party (And destroy their magicka pools).

-Note on Enchanting-  This is the other main key game skill and having alot of time invested within the enchanting skill tree will really pay off later game, this is the part of the build which develops adaptability towards situations for-seen from the oracles aspect form, so if he see's vampires galore in the nasty cave up ahead the oracle would bring all of his fire enchanted friends to the party. This is really the pivoting factor of the build in which all he has learnt is put to use in combat.

    -One-handed- (Minor)

-Armsman- This will help keep the base damage of the weapon you use quite high for those combat situations (Can't be letting enchantments be having all the fun). But its also if you run out of juice in your main weapon, you don't want to be left under-powered

-Note on One-Handed- Just as a minor skill within the oracle i have decided to add the one handed skill tree to his list of skills, because of course he has to enchant some weapons and not have them exceedingly under-powered in its base damage statistics, so i have picked this as a minor skill so that The Divided Oracle can use weapons picked off the lifeless corpses of his fallen foes and re-align the weapons to the cause of their new master, fueled by the soul of its previous owner.

(Aspects): Now here is where the function of his aspects gets tricky, of course you don't want to be leveling up several other characters on "different" play-through's we need to remember this is one build, you want to have RULES, the way i play this is to keep restrictions which are lifted over the time spent "Honing your skills of perception"

By this i mean that we must keep this characters quests restricted to what the main oracle is doing and not to go for a "Pro-Leveling massacre" By this i'm saying you should remember that this IS a SCOUT and NOT a skull crushing maniac with lazers coming out of his eyelids (hehe) So we must keep it so that he has boundaries, a way i have found to do this is he may only use half the perks that the main oracle can so for every 2 perks the main  Oracle gets the Aspect gets 1. Yes it sounds tough but from experience it doesn't seem like a scout any longer if you focus on leveling and developing him but a full blown profile.

Key abillites which can be used in favor of this build are shouts such as Become Ethereal , this allows our character to run in and out of the dungeons without being damage, and it pleases me Aesthetically

-Keep this scout to The barest of gear and remember that he doesn't need to be able to kill but only to check out the layout of these Falmer infested Muck-holes:).

"You laugh as i walk in here, I know you.... I've seen you many a time, you don't know me? i know every..... little..... secret......."

Equipment: This is the most widely adaptable feature of The Divided Oracle, this is the core of the nature of her strikes and defense, if we know we are against draugr and vampires we know to bring our flaming swords and frost resistant undies, So to say which equipment you would need is a feature that would not need to be delved into to much but we'd need to have many variety's of these enchanted Armour's for different situations, although as we have decided on a mage-like back-round for the character we can say we should have to keep it to Light Armour for mobility within the timelines. Items however can be used, items such as the Azura's star can be very helpful in your enchanting needs, a endless soul gem, beyond the void of the soul cairn can be very useful not to mention fits in with the RP of your fascination with souls and the Re-Piecing of your own, not forgetting the dozens of artifacts ripe for the plundering.

At earlier levels just go for any Pre-enchanted gear you can though:)

    Quests:

-The College Of Winterhold- Of course a man (Or lady) of your understanding of time itself would be drawn to uncovering powerful secrets and seeking a way to re-piece your soul into that one true state of being that once was before it was ripped away from you, so the college of Winterhold is a great place to hone your knowledge and a great Quest-line to follow as you come across unimaginable scopes of power, the very kind which bends reality itself.

-DawnGuard- Another Quest-line would be joining the Dawnguard, where else to discover the nature of souls themselves then the soul cairn with its virtually endless supply of soul gems and due to your endless fascination with the concept of rebuilding your own soul its like these quests were built for you, also Soul Tear is a shout which really suits this fascination, or maybe get the bow and shield of auri-el and try to appease the god who cursed you into many timelines.......

-Rescue Arvak- Everyone needs their means of transport, and where better to get one then from the soul cairn, you have taken your understanding of the nature of time and souls to bring this stead across time and space to carry you where you need to go, and its useful to be able to summon a mount as i always seem to misplace my own:)

-Quest Notes- Anything to understand the nature of Aetherius is really a great way to get involved in this build, why not try to gather the elder-scrolls? maybe they will have answers and can help make you whole again... the possibilities are endless (Or very very high)

     -Game-play

Now for the game-play of such a build it gives a insight of whom and what you will be fighting, so always The divided Oracle is one step ahead of his foes, knowing their strengths and weaknesses and being able to adapt to take complete advantage over his enemy's.

So as this build starts an encounter in.. shall we say Broken Fang Cave we first use the characters Time Aspect ability to convert himself across the timelines to have his "scout" to check out the inhabitants and layout of the dungeon. So say here is what we find ---> The cave consists of two rooms inhabited by strong vampires. There is a skeleton in each corner of the first room, and a chest lies in the southeastern corner, and we also expect a boss vampire in next room.

So as we transfer our "Sights" back into our Oracles body we have now learnt the knowledge of where we have headed through a divine Aspect. Now we know what and where we will be facing our foes we then apply the adapting mechanic, so as we have "forseen" vampires we know to bring our gear that is adapted to do flaming damage as vampires have a weakness to the element of fire and also a turn un-dead piece of equipment to handle those skeletons that the vampires are sure to call from the grave.

So as we enter the cave we are first using frenzy spells (not using fear due to the knowledge gathered in aspect form and we know the only place to flee is into the boss's room and Aggroing him causing hell for you), using frenzy will cause them to weaken themselves allowing you to have weakened enemy's to combat, whilst they fight we can then deal with the skeletons by using the Turn un-dead enchantment, after this it is a simple matter of moping up the remaining survivors with your flaming weapons, absorbing their souls into use for your weapons and using them in the fight against the boss

The Boss- We first approach this situation carefully, from our Aspect we know that this boss will have a few dead to resurrect, so the main focus is to get rid of them as fast as possible using the turn un-dead, this will cut the bosses DPS against you, leaving you open to ravage him :D

This is only a quick example of how we can use The Divided Oracle special ability to prepare and attack a smaller dungeon.

    Special moves:

Time Aspects: This core move is the relocation of the Divided Oracles mind from his timeline to one of his aspects taking full control through time.

(Requires you to load the save of the aspect)

Time Warp: Being a master of the study of time itself you have become adept at the bending and slowing of time to suit your situations, slowing time to a near halt before whispering treasonous words into the minds of the weak changing their own allegiances as they see what could of been......

    (Requires Slow time + Frenzy)

Last Note : After reading all those other great builds for the last few months, Finding creative things to do and seeing a great community actively helping each-other out and having a great load of discussions which i could read along too, i finally decided to create an account and contribute towards you guys:) thanks for inspiration all of you for my first build:) and feel free to leave constructive criticism , and leave a like if you uhhhh like it:P  - Khaton

Try to narrow down the skills to maybe two sets. if we want important things up to us we will make our own characters. The concept of this build is really awesome and I love it! It uses the actual functions of the game menu in itself to create a unique experience. There are minor spelling error which I would highly recommend fixing, but otherwise awesome Idea and concept! +1

This is actually a pretty good idea! Having a scout build would double the playtime though. I just wonder whether switching between two save files will become tiresome..? Also, a lot of people hate colorful text. Maybe you could move the perks to the top of your paragraph to bring attention to them instead of the colors. Also +1 :)

Ill get right on that color scheme thing, and maybe i can try to incorporate a feature that for example every period of time you spend in your main Oracle timeline you can only spend half the time in the scout form?, (feedback if you think this could be incorporated), and my main focus in playing builds is to try to get as much out of them as possible, although i see what you mean about the switching between save files, but then this hasn't ever bothered me much as i just RP the time taken as meditation and locating your aspect through the time-lines haha :D

Its a really cool concept. It just needs to be worded in a simpler manner. It takes a few paragraphs to just come out and tell the player you'll be switching files from time to time to simulate jumping timelines
