I would like to start off with saying that my idea for this build is the result of XianiX's build The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. I modeled some things off of that but also believe that I put my own touch to it as well. The Grim Reaper has come to Skyrim, drawn by the war between Stormcloaks and the Empire. It matters not who wins, only that there will be death for all sides involved.

"And so, in Death, I learned the Truth. There is no escape. Courage is useless."--Ulfric Stormcloak

    Death (Level 50)

Keeper of souls, reaper of the dead, immortal slayer, Death has personally arrived in Skyrim. There will be no mercy. There will be no hope. Only death, glorious and endless death. Drawn by the eminent fate of mass death in the war between the Stormcloaks and the Empire, Death is ready to showcase true power. It matters not who wins, only that there will be death for all sides involved. Previously left to the whims of his Angels of Death to do the bidding of their master, Skyrim now faces the full might and power of Death himself. Nothing will be granted mercy for all things must come to an end if it is the right time. Even the mighty World-Eater must bow down to the unlimited power of the Grim Reaper.

Race: Breton, Nord, or Imperial (anyone will work, to complete the look choose the warpaint with the skull and make it black)

Major Skills: Two-handed, Illusion, Conjuration, Enchanting

Minor Skills: Speech, Destruction, Alteration (optional)

Stone: Mage to Lord, Ritual, or Atronach

Armor/Clothing: Clothing designed to bring out the Death in you--Black Hooded Robes, Thalmor Gloves and Boots, Necromancer's Amulet, Ring with enchantment of choice (I personally used resist Magicka)

Weapon: Headsman's Axe, Ebony Battleaxe, Daedric Battleaxe, Bound Battleaxe, or Orcish Battleaxe

Shouts: Fire Breath, Become Ethereal, Bend Will (DB), Dismay, Dragonrend, Drain Vitality, Marked for Death, Slow Time, Soul Tear (DG), Elemental Fury

Quests: Destroy the Dark Brotherhood, College of Winterhold (Especially Hitting the Books), Main Quest, Blood on the Ice, Dawnguard

    The Build

Death is fearless simply because he is immortal and brings death to all others. He approaches fights with a slow calm, knowing that none can kill him for you cannot kill Death.

He has exceptional control over the life-force of all beings, being master in conjuration, he is constantly bringing the dead back to life. Due to this control over life and death, conjuration plays a huge part in the build and will be perked heavily. He even has the power to bring back the life of the horse Arvak, the undead horse to ride as his own when needed to fulfill the extra need for instilling fear.

However, in order to create bodies for reanimation, Death must first bring the end to the souls of the fallen through the use of his scythe (battleaxe). The Headsman's Axe is the closest thing to a scythe in Skyrim that I could find and is also easily available at an early level. Definitely my choice weapon. Two-handed weapons will be focused on to maximize damage output.

Death strikes fear into the hearts of all through the use of fear spells. However, when an opponent is worthy, he may calm them to give them peace of mind before he sends them into the afterlife. Also makes for easy approach to battles, embracing the slow but steady style of apathy that Death has towards his targets. Sneak is okay to use as well since Death works in shadows. But it doesn't need to be a focus or even used at all.

Fire is often associated with death, especially in the form of hell. Death has mastery over fire in order to instill fear into his targets, while damaging them with burns that remind them of their past sins. Mastery over fire will ensure that not even the fleetest of foot will escape Death as his range is limitless.

Enchant weapons with fire damage and soul steal since both embody the power of Death. Enchant rings and gloves with resist magic and health. Enchant the black hood with Conjuration and Conjuration/Fortify Magicka regen.

Conjuration: Novice-Master, Necromancy, Dark Souls, Twin Souls

Two-Handed: Barbarian 3/5, Champion's Stance, Great Critical Charge, Sweep, Limbsplitter 3/3 (optional, you can put those 3 perks elsewhere if you choose)

Illusion: Novice-Master, Animage, Kindred Mage, Quiet Casting, Master of the Mind, Rage, Aspect of Terror, Hypnotic Gaze

Destruction: Novice, Augmented Flames 2/2, Intense Flames

Enchanting: Enchanter 5/5, Insightful Enchanter, Corpus Enchanter, Extra Effect, Fire Enchanter

    Alteration: Novice-Apprentice, Magic Resistance 3/3

Speech: Haggling 1/5, Allure, Merchant (If Limbsplitter isn't chosen, otherwise requires level 53)

    Getting Started

First head off to Solitude since that is the location of the Headsman's Axe. There are two ways to get it, either by killing Ahtar or getting him to be a follower. Since you are Death himself, it would make the most sense to just kill him, one because he is trying to do your job and two because to you, he is insignificant. Next head over to the College of Winterhold and do the quests to the point of Hitting the Books. This is important because it is the only chance to receive the hooded black robes without an enchantment without additional DLC. They are located in the circular room before fighting The Caller. While it is not necessary to get the unenchanted version, it allows you to place whatever enchantment you want. To complete the look I used Thalmor Gloves and Boots which can found during the main quest or by taking the path to the hidden Talos Shrine in Whiterun Hold before going to the three Standing Stones of Mage, Warrior, and Thief. To top it all off, add on an enchanted ring of choice and the Necromancer's Amulet and you are now the embodiment of Death. If you so wish, you may also use a Dragon Priest Mask if the idea of skull warpaint does not appeal to you.

Essentially this with the addition of the Headsman's Axe and the skull Warpaint.

    Role-playing

Skyrim has grown complacent under the care of Death's Angels since they are far more lenient than him. It is time that they are reminded the true power of Death. In order to blend in with the rest of Skyrim and to judge their strength, Death placed himself in the perfect place to be "captured" by the Empire. With the help of knowing the fate of all living things eventual death, you know ahead of time that the World-Eater will return, allowing it to look like your escape is under the influence of luck. Death is here in person, terrifying, powerful, and destructive as he surveys Skyrim. The vessel he has chosen to represent himself feels weak, but that will be remedied in time as he grows used to its difference from his immortal form.

Death has arrived at the most opportune time since Skyrim is in the midst of a civil war. It matters not to him who wins, for they all die in the end. Help either one, or neither, that remains to be seen. Perhaps one of the mortals of will strike his fancy and sway his favor towards one side. Those that stand in his way will be swept aside without mercy or care as he apathetically reaps their souls.

There are those that need punishment, particularly the Dark Brotherhood. They overstep themselves, killing targets before their time is up and need to be punished. They will be destroyed. The World-Eater also needs to be reminded that he is not as powerful as he would believe, that Death far outweighs him in the manner of power and he will be destroyed.

Remember that in your role-play to act as though life means nothing to you. Anyone and anything that you deem should die, will die. Anyone that attempts to do your job for you will also die. Make sure that vampires are hunted extensively since they attempt to escape death through immortality. Remind them that they too can come to pass though mortal wounds, while you are truly unkillable.

Never become a vampire, werewolf, or eat dead bodies. You have no need for those things since you are already beyond powerful. Death cares not for anything, he is not swayed by greed so avoid the Thieves Guild; he is apathetic in all he does.

Death is not evil, he is not good. He merely exists to fulfill the natural order of things. Laws and bounties mean nothing to him. Death can react as he wishes to the structures in place that are created by mortals. Whatever means it takes to fulfill his duty, he will take. Skyrim be ready, for Death is here!

Okay, this build is pretty cool. I've always thought Death was pretty badass. However, there are a few things I think you should improve. In the Armour part, just saying "Clothing designed to bring out the Death in you", doesn't work. I came to the character build section because I can't be bothered being creative right now and I want to play someone else's thing. Make a set clothing list. You don't need to leave the options open. If I want to deviate from your set armour list, I will. The only other problem is that you've not done much to make this fit with the lore, but that can be overlooked. Other than that, it's pretty awesome. Is this your first?

Nice build for the first one. One question, how do you heal yourself? You don't have Restoration, Alchemy, health absorbing weapons... For non-sneaking guy wearing robes it's pretty much a certain death (see what I did here? )

Yes, this is my first. Thank you, I will look into fixing that. I wasn't sure if I should put the details in the clothing there since I explained it all in the Getting Started section.

I am a heavy user of potions when I play, hence the use of some speech perks for buying those health potions. Plus, it is easy  for alteration use to nullify a large portion of damage when used in addition to conjuration. For the first few levels that I tried this build it was tougher since the beginning conjurations are a lot weaker, but eventually it got to the point where I hardly used potions since I dispatched my targets with ease by kiting and distractions that were given by my raised minions.

Yes I know, but still, if you are going to bother having an Armour bit, you might as well actually put the armour you are using in there. Also I realise I ranted a little bit about that armour thing, which was unintended.

It's just his roleplay Vazgen. Death is unkillable, so why should he need Restoration. However, when it comes down to the actual gameplay, it does raise that question.

It is all good. I appreciate the constructive criticism as it will help me with any future builds that I may create.
