Even a man who is pure of heart, and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfsbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.

    -The Wolf Man, 1941

When I created this build, my goal was to create a character whose human form was improved by his beastblood. For the build, benefits such as improved strength, accelerated healing, and improved healing and stamina were all gained through a mix of enchantments. However, I still wanted my beast form to be more powerful then my human form, so that it remained a crucial part of the build. So, without further ado, I present: The Werewolf.

**DISCLAIMER: I played this build on Adept Difficulty. At this level, it was challenging but still competitive. I don't know whether or not you could even make an effort to do this on any difficulty above this. So if you like to play on a higher difficulty, then this build may not be for you, since unarmed combat in human form may be completely unviable. However, if you usually play on Adept, or wouldn't mind playing on Adept for this build, then read on.

    Background:

You were a young boy when you were attacked by a mysterious beast in the night. The healers did everything they could, and you parents were convinced that you had been saved. At least until your first full moon, barely a week later. You killed both of your parents and a hold guard who came to investigate. When you awoke the next morning all you could remember was the blood, and you knew you couldn't go home.

So you took to living in the forests near Falkreath. You lived off the land, hunting with your bare hands and claws, and clothing yourself in the furs and skins of your prey. And so you lived, away from anyone you could harm. Until one fateful morning, when you were chasing a deer through the woods and stumbled into an Imperial ambush. Convinced you were no more than an feral animal, they subdued you and put you on a cart bound for Helgen...

    Race:

Nord Werewolf: I choose Nord for roleplaying reasons and because it was more challenging to use a race with no starting benefits to unarmed damage.

    Stone:

Lady: I viewed the 25% increase to health and stamina regeneration as your wolf blood giving accelerated healing and recuperation.

    Stats: 0 Magicka:2 Health:3 Stamina

    Skills:

Enchanting: Provides you with your enhanced abilities. Perks are Enchanter, Insightful Enchanter, and Corpus Enchanter.

Light Armor: Allows you to some protection from your enemies' attacks, while still remaining mobile. Perks are Agile Defender, Custom Fit, and Unhindered.

Sneak: Allows you to close the gap between you and your enemies quickly and silently, without allowing to be shot down by archers and mages. Perks are Stealth, Muffled Movement, Light Foot, Silent Roll, and Silence.

    Equipment:

Fur Armor of Healing (Represents accelerated healing)

Gloves of the Pugilist->Fur Gauntlets of Unarmed Damage (Claws and enhanced strength)

Fur Boots of Stamina (Increased stamina)

Silver Necklace of Health (Increased health)

Ring of Hircine: An obvious choice, it allows us to transform multiple times a day, if necessary.

A note on the armor choice. I decided to use fur armor for its looks alone. It looks like something a man who has lived in the forests for most of his life might wear.

    Essential Quests:

Companions Questline (at least up until 'The Silver Hand'): You must become a werewolf. It is simple as that. Preferably do it as soon as possible. However, it is up to you whether you wish to continue through the entire questline or not. I chose not to continue, as I was playing my character as a lone wolf (pun intended). However you could choose to finish the questline, in order to seek out companionship from your fellow werewolves.

Ill Met By Moonlight (Save Sinding): In order to gain the Ring of  Hircine. Role-playing wise, you are seeking to save a brother werewolf. Whether you are a loner or not, you won't let a fellow wolf be slain like a mere beast.

Dawnguard: As long as there have been werewolves and vampires, they have been mortal enemies. The moment you heard that the vampires were gathering their strength, you knew you couldn't let these bloodletters survive. So you joined the Dawnguard, only to slay the leader of this clan. Likewise, if you are loner, you can choose to do no more than that, or if you wish, you can do the radiant quests. However, you must get rid of Serana as soon as possible. By your very nature, you can't trust a vampire, even though her intentions are good.

    Roleplay:

You distrust people in general. However, you are not a murderer, no are you a thief. You rarely go to large cities, and if you do, you have a specific reason. You prefer smaller towns or cities, such as Riverwood or Falkreath, places where the safety of the forests are a short sprint away. You only ever have a follower if it is needed to complete a questline.

Another roleplaying aspect I incorporated was this: when I transformed, I played as though my bloodlust had taken over, and as such, I played as a completely different character. Where as a human you wouldn't kill without reason, as a wolf, you kill anything that you see. I acted as though the wolf had taken control until I transformed back into a human. However, feeding was optional. I viewed as though the human side still had a little-self control, and would not completely become an animal, unless he choose to.

    Combat:

Sneak as close as possible to the enemy. Once you safely can, sprint to the closest enemy and begin the fight. If there is a large number of enemies, or the enemies are to strong for your human form to take down, transform first. On Adept difficulty, I was able to take out low to mid level opponents, such as Bandits, Bandit Outlaws, Vampires, Forsworn and the like easily, all without shifting form. Even when fighting a Bandit Chief or a Master Vampire one on one, I was able to hold my own. Generally I would transform when I saw one of these higher level opponents surrounded by other enemies. Or, I would shift when there were a larger number of ranged opponents. The fast sprint of my werewolf form allowed me to get upon on top of an archer or mage fast, before they could do much damage to me. Because of the way I role-played, I only used beast form when it was absolutely necessary, in order to avoid losing self-control.

In your human form, you can attempt to dodge as many enemy attacks as possible while moving around and hitting them with your own. In your wolf form, you should have enough health to take whatever hits most opponents can dish out, while using your claws to tear through them in return.

Personally, I never completed 'Dragon Rising', so that I would not have fight any dragons. The honest reason for this: I had no clue how I would fight a dragon with this build. Especially if it decided not to land. As for my role-playing reason, I decided it was because of my lone wolf attitude. My character wasn't concerned with the dragon threat, because, if it came to it, he could hide in the forests, much as he had hidden from civilization for many years.

And there you have it. As this was my first try, I hope hit all the key components of good build.

Yeah, I was trying to go for a simple name that really described the build. I guess I didn't think about how boring it would look to people.

Sounds good I'm going to try this build.

I found it to be quite challenging, in a fun way though. With your only form of combat based on a skill that doesn't level, you need to make sure to keep your enchanting level up. Plus, it keeps beast form as a main part of the build, vs. some builds where it can soon become obsolete.

What difficulty did you play on? Unarmed is useless on Expert+ difficulties without some exploits and enhancements. Nords start with 4 Unarmed Damage. Enchant it all you want you won't get high damage of it. To compare - a Cave Bear has 450 health. You'll need to beat him for ages to kill outside of the Beast Form. Basically any combat outside of werewolf form is useless with this character. This is an unarmed build but you didn't even take the only perk affecting unarmed damage.

Also your tags are wrong. You need to put them this way: "Character Build Acrobat" along with the quotation marks and you can only have three of these tags.

Thanks for the info on the tags. And I played on Adept. I found it challenging enough but still being fun. I was able to take out low to mid level opponents with relative ease when I was human. And the idea was for me to not be able to beat everything that gets in my way in human form. Enter beast form, which allowed me to kill pretty much anything else. That was my whole plan when I was building this character.

You don't need ":" symbol in the tags. What I'm saying is that on higher difficulties and levels you'll basically have to transform for every fight (regarding bear example, every time you see a bear). Trolls will be impossible to kill without werewolf form as well as Hagravens. So you'll actually play through all the game in beast form, which, because of it's limited combat options, becomes repetitive very soon.

I agree, a build based entirely around beast form without little use of human is utterly repetitive, and boring.

Builds got a few issues like using weak armor without smithing.

Maybe some heavy gauntlets like ancient nord with the perk for unarmed combat?

All right. I'll look into it tomorrow and experiment with some gauntlets. And maybe some new armor. At this point, fur is still working for me. Any other suggestions?
