If you read in the alteration area you can see that you don't use armor but use mage armor spells.

I think "Alchemist" fits the build better, if no one has used this name yet. One of the objectives in alchemy is turn metal (or stone? I cant remember) into gold. If you add smithing like you said you might, things can get very interesting. You can avoid spending perks on melee combat skills and rely only on the artifacts you make.

I'm asking because I play on Legendary and playing unarmored and without sneak is an outright suicide. You haven't listed Sneak in your skills and you use only Hoarfrost or Keening which are both low damage weapons. How do you play this on high difficulties?

I see you are using the mage armor, but if you end up adding smithing you could trade that for any combination of armors you want, while creating unique looks. Chitin helmets for example fits the concept of an artificer, because of the glasses and mouth cover.

Avoiding combat skills won't underpower you, since you are able to double the equipments stats with smithing. It will end up having the same stats of a no craft build. You won't be a skilled fighter because of the other perks, but you'll have pretty good armor and weapons to make up for it (and I'm not even considering the alchemy-smithing loops for power players...)

I like the idea, but the build itself needs a bit of work. Maybe expand upon equipment and special moves more?
