    THE WEAPONSMASTER

A master of combat and sneaking, a self-proclaimed true warrior, you attempted learning the ways of wizardry years ago, but all who you sought told you the same: magic denies you; you will never be a true wizard. Upon reaching adulthood, you traveled the land, seeking ways to force magic to accept you, so you could become a wizard. In your travels, you came in touch with various styles of combat, and also with various different sources of knowledge, becoming a very eclectic both fighter and scholar. With your knowledge and skills, you convinced group of Hamerfell mercenaries to finance your research. After a few years, a particularly disastrous experiment caused the death of several mercenaries, and their belief in you was crushed. This final failure turned your curiosity for magic into hatred and envy. You decided to go against wizards, to prove you did not need their powers to overcome them. Despite this realization, the whole mercenary guild was still after you. With the mercenaries at chase, you fled into Skyrim, only to fall in an ambush set by the Empire, together with a band of local rebels. And so starts the story.

    Summary

As the story shows, magic itself refuses this hero. He relies only on skillful combat and resourceful knowledge to defeat his foes. He seeks stability rather than chaos, always trying to command groups who can finance his armor, weaponry and magical items. Even though magic refused him, he can still make use of magical scrolls and potions, which he employs in his operations. This build is inspired by the archer from a certain trailer…

    Construction of the Weaponsmaster:

    • Race: Redguard, Nord, Orc, Imperial, Khajiit.
    • Attributes: 0 / 1 / 1
    • Skills:
      • Sneak: 11 points. The best warrior is not the most honorable, it’s the one who’s alive. Following that idea, you always try to kill opponents before they even have a chance to see you.
      • One-Handed: 8 points (for certain special moves to work, get single handed perks and two dual wielding perks as well). Your main training focus has always been in the agile blades, and over the years you’ll become a master of this style of combat.
      • Block: 8 points. The Shield compensates your lack of armor protection, while still allowing you to be agile and flexible.
      • Speech: 5 points (I recommend taking the discount branch). You need followers and people that believe in you for financing of your equipment. The same way you convinced mercenaries to study magic, you convince people around you to give you discounts.
      • Alchemy: 5 points. To compensate your lack of magical power, you learned how to utilize the powerful magical reagents present in the land to create what you call “Artificial Magic”.
      • Archery: 6 points. Sometimes, you’ll never have the chance to approach magical foes. Using magical crossbow darts is another way to compensate your lack of ranged wizardry power.
      • Light Armor: 5 points. The weight of metal plates would make too much noise and wouldn’t allow you to be as agile as the leathery armor you choose to wear.
      • Smithing: (Only Steel Smithing and Arcane Blacksmith perks). Although you would rather leave the weapons craftsmanship to your subordinates, you realize that only with specialization is it possible to work on magical items.
      • Stone: Before you reach level 25, you’ll need to switch between Warrior and Thief or vice-versa: as your skills in fighting improve enough, switch to Thief. When you can both sneak and fight comfortably, switch to Shadow or Lord Stone, depending on how you plan to play your Weaponsmaster.
    • Equipment:
      • Armor: As the game starts, use Leather Armor or whatever you can find. After you join the thieves guild, use their basic set, followed by the Nightingale set, and finally the Guild Master set. Maintain them as improved as you can.
      • Weaponry: As I pointed out, this character is not only a full, heads on warrior, he is resourceful and cunning, utilizing weaponry that’ll compensate his lack of magic capability.
      • Main Hand: Start with the Skyforge Weapon from the Companions, and as soon as you finish the quests, get the Nightingale Blade for common enemies and Dragonbane for the overgrown lizards. For the sneak attacks, get Mehrune’s Razor or Blade of Woe.
      • Off-Hand: Get Ysgramor’s Shield from the companion questline, and that’ll do for protection. For dual-wielding moments, switch it for Mehrune’s Razor or Blade of Woe, your pick.
      • Ranged: If you have Dawnguard, finish the vampire hunter’s quest line for badass explosive crossbows, which will compensate the lack of spells. If you don’t have it, stick to poisoned arrows from the shadows.
      • Gadgets and Tricks: The Weaponsmaster would never dismiss the capability of potions and scrolls, despite his anger at magic in general. Feel free to purchase them around with your Speech or create the potions yourself.

    Quests and Gameplay

The Weaponsmaster searches for groups that can support him in his adventures. Although the Companions are excessively bound by honor and such foolish ideals, they are nevertheless powerful warriors, and upon your arrival in Skyrim you join them, as you are on the way to warn the Jarl of Whiterun about the dragon. During your travels in missions for the companions, you’ll meet Brynjolf, who’ll present you to the thieves guild. Instantly seeing opportunity to gain weaponry, financing and partners, you’ll join them. After being attacked by a Dark Brotherhood assassin (you most likely will, if you’re playing as a thief) you begin research on them. Killing them or not is up to you. Once in touch with the Dawnguard, you instantly side with them, for the vampires's wielding of magic enrages you. This hero is the Dragonborn, despite all this background story, and you should follow the Greybeards Questline. Of course, this is a optional section, if you want to keep the build and change the story, I won’t tell anyone.

    Build Examples:

    Special Moves:

    • Counterattack: Your opponent raises his weapon high and bashes with all his strength, only to feel the immense pain caused by the back of your shield. As he attempts to recover, you pull out a knife and you flush him with powerful strikes.

Slow time from Quick Reflexes > Bash with Shield > Dual-Wielding power attack

    • Shadow Walking: Silently approaching an unaware enemy, you pass your blade through his throat. As his allies prepare to react, you disappear into the shadows once more, leaving them baffled.

Stealth Kill > Invisibility (Stone, Power or Potion) with Shadow Warrior perk effect.

    • Unstoppable Force: You run against an enemy, pushing towards a cliff. When he thinks your attack was futile, you blow him to a deathly fall with the power of your voice.

Nearby high fall > Shield Charge enemy towards it > Fus RO DAH!!

    • Inferno Wave: As an unsuspecting target walks by, he is hit by a dart. He feels the unusual chemicals acting through his body, although the effects are not apparent. When he less expects it, two major explosions burn him to a pile of nothing.

Weakness to fire poison > Exploding crossbow Bolt of Fire> Fire Breath Shout

    • Icy Fate: A powerful mage shoots his fire spells against the invading warrior. Just when victory seems imminent, a penetrating pain hits his chest. Looking at the bolt deep in to his flesh, the wizard realizes that he’s in grave danger. Before he can react, the freezing power of death engulfs him.

Weakness to frost poison > Exploding crossbow bolt of ice > Frost Breath Shout
